BREAKING: Disney today welcomed their newest princess to the kingdom!
I'm pretty sure after the "DON'T LET YOUR KIDS WATCH THIS!" marketing that went along with the first film, that most parents are in the know about the graphic nature of his films, plus there are enough places/ways to check ratings - and even get an idea of content - that if a kid ends up seeing an R-rated film, the parents are totally oblivious. We have 2 sons - 13 and 8 - who love the Marvel movies, but have shown literally zero interest in Deadpool even though we own both on blu ray. I attribute their lack of interest being due to the fact that 1) we've not hyped the films to them at all, and 2) we've made it clear that they're for adults (they happened to spot one of the movies on a table after we bought it), and 3) the films are literally NEVER playing on any TV in the house unless the boys are in bed. IF Marvel decides to use Deadpool in any MCU films and they fall under the PG-13 rating, the boys will likely see them. It's popular without the MCU already and it the MCU doesn't need it. My guess is that it stays outside but Deadpool makes jokes within the movie that reference the MCU, just like he does in the comics.
It's not worth the risk. Loads of parents don't pay attention to this kind of thing and it could seriously torpedo the MCU when Little Johnny tells his mom that "Deadpool is the next one in the series after Spider-Man" and all of a sudden kids everywhere are watching Ryan Reynolds in graphic violent/sexual scenes.
My guess is that Disney themselves are just finding out the answers to those questions this morning. These mergers are locked down tight and information like that would have been kept extremely confidential.I probably should know better asking here (because everybody will give their opinion rather than any actual facts), but does anybody know of any current fox properties contract end dates with any of the streaming services. Probably a tough task, but it would be neat to see a list (xyz contracts expire in 2020, while pqr expire in 2021...)

Irrelevant. Stupid people cause legitimate PR problems for companies all the time. When the outrage mob comes to Twitter, Iger isn't going to be able to get away with the argument that "idiot parents should have known better."Some parents are idiots...If you haven't heard of Deadpool, by now, you live under a rock.
no because we need to talk about how disney buying fox will somehow lead to disney buying out the marvel theme park rights!!1111!!! it's common sense! So can this thread finally come to a close just like the acquisition ?
Now I won't stop coming on the thread completely now the deal has completed. I probably will pop on every now and again, but not as regularly, to find out about what it leads to. I can turn my attention to park related threads now.
I just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been playing a part in this thread for a year and a bit. It's kept me in the loop, and enabled me to contribute my part, while learning a lot from others too.
Thank you all.
THR are saying F4 and X-Men wont appear in the MCU till at least 2021. Black Panther 2 is due in 2021 maybe Storm will be the 1st mutant?

X-Men Franchise Poised for Shake-Up as Fox’s Marvel Heroes Migrate to Disney
After the Disney deal for Fox closes, Marvel Studios' cinematic universe will have access to classic characters that were once key pillars to the publishing division.www.hollywoodreporter.com
So, two things:
- Fox Sports has to be sold off. Bye, Cardinals!
- Bite it, Disney (Live Action) Studios!! No spotlight for you! No plug for you, Dumbo, Aladdin, or Lion King!!!
Feh....
They certainly can but I don't expect them to. Shield is in production and will wrap up for good soon. More likely is that you will be able to hear the term Mutant. Maybe we will see one. It won't be A-list though.Couldn’t they add mutants into the MCU tv shows
What is funny to me is that this deal was really positioned as being for Disney+.... BUT barely anything they acquired is actually going to Disney+? I can't imagine that nothing of Fox makes its way there.
If anything this deal was more to create a robust Hulu that Disney owns?
I kind of hope Hulu/Disney+ are packaged. Or maybe they should have just gone with a single unified platform.
Well, there's production houses and there are distributors. Just like when Disney used to distribute under Touchstone or under Disney depending on the branding and rating, a Fox-related studio could crank out family fare but then be 'distributed' and thus 'branded' by Disney theatrically or streamingly. Also, while those brands are going to be associated with D+, it doesn't stop other content from showing up. There are shows on the Disney channel not produced in any way by Disney.
But, yeah, most of Fox will head to Hulu.
