So if this deal is all finalised soon for Disney/ Fox what are we expecting next?

Do we think the April shareholders event where Disney+ will be shown off will also be where Disney go into depth about what the plans are for everything to do with Fox? Or do we think they'll just announce stuff, as and when they see fit?

To me there are still a lot of unknowns?

Also, has there been any more speculation on Disney buying out more of Hulu from AT&T or Comcast? Where they've clawed money back from the 39% of SKY and selling of the RSNs that they would use that money to clear up anything else they may want before just going into driving down the debt

Disney hasn't announced anything, but there has been a great deal of speculation. The most recent is the purchase of the 10% of Hulu which AT&T owns. It is also reasonable to believe that Disney will spend a great deal on rolling out Disney+ globally and Hulu Internationally. One question I am curious to see an answer for, is will Comcast pony up their 30% of the Hulu global expansion (which will help expand Disney+) or will they sit on the sidelines and watch their equity position in Hulu shrink.....

For the next few months. We will see lots of organizational announcements, talent deals / departures, some lay offs and a lot of focus on Streaming Services.

There is a rumor mill that Sunday Ticket may not be secured as long as everyone thought at DirecTV, wouldn’t be surprised if we see ESPN+ and/or Hulu making a big play for the service. (Obvi with big competition from Amazon, Comcast and CBS)

Not part of the topic. There's a thread for that here.
What? This isn't a spirited thread with 200 pages of movie discussions?

Disney and Fox have released preliminary election results in connection to the acquisition. Source: https://www.businesswire.com/news/h...1st-Century-Fox-Announce-Preliminary-Election

Based on available information as of the Election Deadline, the preliminary election results were:

  • Holders of 959,919,192 shares of 21CF common stock, or approximately 51.57% of outstanding shares, elected to receive cash;
  • Holders of 682,198,198 shares of 21CF common stock, or approximately 36.65% of outstanding shares, elected to receive shares of common stock of New Disney; and
  • Holders of 219,388,371 shares of 21CF common stock, or approximately 11.79% of outstanding shares, did not make an election.

The preliminary election results are subject to a notice of guaranteed delivery procedure. The final election results may therefore differ materially from the preliminary election results.

So more than half of Fox shareholders opted for cash. Yikes.
