I thought the next meeting wasn't till April? Where they were going to demo Disney+?

I'm pretty sure that's what they are calling their "Investor Day". When I googled the shareholder meeting, I found news articles from last fall indicating that the shareholder meeting would be on March 7th in St. Louis. The shareholder meeting is where shareholders vote on things contained in the proxy statement. The Investor Day is on April 11th and is where Disney has indicated they will give details on Disney+ and some information on their plans for Fox (assuming it's closed by then).

Universo Online is reporting Disney has until the end of 2020 to sell Fox Sports Brazil.

Viacom, RedeTV, Sony, Groupo Record, SBT, Turner Broadcasting, Discovery Communications, and other entities are alleged to be interested in buying the assets.

Makes sense. So it will just be a happy coincidence then if the deal closes around March 7th.
I think it could close much earlier than that.

Anything that gets Disney and Sony to sitdown can only be good for us at the very least Spider-Man would pop up in the conversation. They could work out a deal extension involving Fox Sports Latin America network.

You sure are putting a great deal of eggs into that basket, eh?

When you consider how many shows may have been implicated in the whole scheme (Bones is likely not the only victim), it's a big deal. It's an even bigger deal that Disney is bringing the guys involved in their circle, taking their baggage with them.

Disney will most likely write off the debt. They will probably shutdown the Fox movie and tv studios in a couple of years anyway.

If they wrote off the debt, all those properties would never see the light of day again.

I dont think thats how that works? Disney would transfer all the fox properties to main Disney studio. And move the Marvel stuff under Feige. They are buying Fox for its IP catalog. For Disney+. Not so much for its studio resources. Or Fox could just pay it themselves its only $180 million its nothing to them.

$180 million is considered material under GAAP accounting rules. Fox would have had to set the money aside when the arbitration started (at least the 50 Million of it that was not punitive damages) . They will definitely have to put the punitive damages aside as they appeal the ruling. The merger agreement covers legal exposure on all kinds of legal issues and set asides. They can write off $180 million if the appeal is lost, but the tax benefit would only be the companies tax rate multiplied by the write-off. (If they have a 20% tax rate, then the tax benefit would only be 36 million, with the rest coming from earnings)

Disney gives Fox Sports to Comcast & Sony they could give Disney back the film, and distribution rights to the Hulk, and Spiderman.
That would be a horrible deal. The movie distribution rights for Hulk and almost worthless while the Spiderman rights are worth about 5 to 6 billion but Fox's RSNs are worth 15 billion or more and the Fox Sports in Brazil and Mexico are worth ????
