Disney After Hours Event

It's not quite that black and white. My guess is, the majority of those surveyed regarding this After Hours event said NO, they would not pay that much for what is offered. So they are really only listening to a minority of their guests. But it's enough to justify going forward with this event.

And it's possible that a large enough number said Yes to warrant a market test, which is why there are only 7 scheduled nights.

Doesn't MK open at 9am? Is this going to be an hour "overlap" of EMM guests and regular ticket guests (similar to the 3 hour overlap for the After Party)? I'm interested to see how this works out for people who get there at rope-drop and find lines for 7DMT, Pooh, and Peter Pan at park opening.
Yeah, I'm not sure what they're thinking. Maybe on non-EMH days... Or more hours cut.

I can't wait for the Magic Kingdom's "Middle of the Night MADNESS"

For just $87 per person you can be in the park from 2:15- 4:27 and experience all the late night magic of The Jungle Cruise, Astro Orbiter, and the Hall of Presidents. Free animal crackers and Gatorade will be provided!

Or... Do you love the Magic Kingdom? Here's your chance to show it! Go Behind the Magic of Disney Park Maintenance in this special VIP Experience! Grab your mop and broom and help us clean the Magic Kingdom after Disney's After Hours Event ends and before Fantasyland Before the Park Opens begins. Remove gum off the sidewalk and scrub the urinals in Tomorrowland. Only $37.50 includes a free cup of coffee and rubber gloves. Hurry - only a limited number of slots remain!

That's freaking genius! They can reduce staff AND charge a premium for this Very Special Ticketed Event.

I see no flaws with this plan.

Mickey's Very Clean Custodial Night!
MVCCN

You could experience the life of a cast member! Wait.. That's got to be worth more than $37.50. That's easily $50!

Am I the only person who would pay to have a night tour that demonstrates park upkeep and maintenance? I understand it's all pretty simple, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see it firsthand.

Maybe that's the engineer in me coming out.

I think that's the really funny part. I've done the Keys to the Kingdom tours and loved it. I would do a night tour to see the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes on. Maybe not quite as "hands on" as what I proposed though. :)

Those that can afford to.
Exactly this. They already have VIP tours for those who are willing to pay $400-$600 per hour so they are just targeting another high budget crowd. Why not, that's what a business does. In the meantime, I'm part of the crowd who'll not partake.

You have to love how they send out a survey about adding a resort fee because of the exclusives of staying at a Disney resort like EMH. Then just a week later they introduce something that shows that they may be planning to take that exclusive away and instead make it an upcharge available to anyone for the right price.

And $150 for that upcharge?! Even if it would be a very limited amount of people, I can't imagine saying that's a great deal, especially when you could buy a 2-day pass at a cheaper price, get more hours in the park and most likely still get on all of the rides you want.

With Disney implementing all of this stuff that involves paying them extra cash, they will definitely not be seeing as much of my money on my next trip to Florida. I will stay at an offsite hotel and rent a car for less or about the same as I spend to stay at a Disney resort. And, since I now have a rental car, why limit all, or all except one of, my days to Disney property? Maybe I'll go to Universal for a day or two, or Sea World or some other sites in the area.

Disney really needs to watch just how much they want to push this nickel and diming of their customers because I'm sure that I'm obviously not the only one that's had these thoughts. And I really think if they keep trying to squeeze every last penny they can out of their guests, in the end, it's going to end up costing them money, money they could have made if they had just left things as they were and made it a "free" service to their guests.

Well said!!

No, that would be $200 per person, if daytime is $120, and late night is $149, it would obviously be super premium pricing for the middle of the night.

Looks like there will be an "early morning" option for $69 as well...

Fantasyland Fun Before the Park Opens

Make your Walt Disney World mornings more magical than ever with a first-access experience in the park!

Rising with the sun on select mornings, Disney Early Morning Magic gives you the chance to be among the first to enter Magic Kingdom park and experience a trio of Fantasyland attractions:

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Peter Pan’s Flight.

Plus, in addition to the early-morning fun, you can get your fill of a fantastic continental breakfast at Pinocchio Village Haus—featuring such scrumptious breakfast fare as:

Chilled juices, coffee and teas
Seasonal fruit and berries
Freshly baked pastries
Cheese and cured meats
Scrambled eggs with assorted toppings
Vegetable frittata
Smoked bacon
Pork and turkey sausages
Fried potatoes with caramelized onions
Mickey Waffles

Available with the purchase of a separate ticket, Disney Early Morning Magic takes place on select dates from 7:45 AM to 10:00 AM. However, admission is limited—be sure to buy your tickets before it’s too late!

Admission to Disney Early Morning Magic is available $69 per adult and $49 per child (tax not included).

So...gross.

Was anyone here on the Disneyland board (on this forum, but DL) last fall when they were talking about the $300 early-admission Jungle Cruise option they had?

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...-experience-coming-to-disneyland-park.904307/

I don't think it was successful, but cant' really tell as the whole attraction is being refurbished right now. Some of our discussion here reminds me of that discussion. It is just more money-grabbing. Don't I don't thing the West Coast is as used to it as we are!

At least that provided a meal and a unique experience

Why do you think Disney has had limits in the past in what they would do? Based on your justification... why haven't they simply opened the parks up to any request if the demanded price can be met? After all.. isn't that what a business does?

People who just shrug and say "it doesn't affect me because I won't buy a ticket" don't. Get. It.

This kind of garbage affects all guests whether they participate or not. It means the standard guest experience, once revered as among the best in the world, is being chipped away at little by little. This is a slippery slope, and WDW is too far gone at this point. The upcharge onslaught is now unstoppable and it will manifest itself in uglier and uglier ways.

"I'm sorry, your visit to the Magic Kingdom has expired. If you'd like to add an additional two hours to your standard six hour magic ticket, please scan your MagicBand to pay an additional $69."

Used to be far-fetched. Not so far-fetched anymore.
