Disney After Hours BOO BASH

The prices aren’t new. They are in line with previous pricing for after hours events.
They can claim that but if they can't convince me to pay it they are in trouble. I only buy the Platinum Plus Annual Pass because I hate having to worry about blackouts. I can afford whatever they charge if I believe the deal is reasonable but as someone who buys 2 Platinum Plys Passes a year, pays dues on 425 DVC points and has a wife who loves to buy a ton of stuff, I could easily affford $129 a ticket but for this event it's just not worth it. I would rather go to Disney Springs and buy a dinner at the Boathouse than spend that price for a pathetic after hour event.

Has there ever been an after hours event that ran for 23 nights over the 3 month period?

No? Then yes, pricing is new. And the obvious elephant in the room... the target customers are coming from a party that cost almost 1/2 as much... not the DAH customers.

When you take one thing out of it's spot.. and replace it with another. That's not a false comparison, that's human nature.

Disney is putting this up as a replacement to the party this year - no amount of hand waving changes that simple fact.

We're assuming it's more like the After Hours event than MNSSHP because that's exactly what Disney is saying it is.

In case you aren’t familiar with Disney After Hours, it’s a special event that’s open to a limited number of guests, after normal park operating hours. The experience offers low wait times at more than 20 attractions from classics like the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain, to newer favorites like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It’s a ghostly good time for all!

People saying the won't go might not have been able to anyway. That is if it sells out from ticket sales to on site guests. 🌃

Were complaining about Disney canceling the best parade it does all year, the best castle show they do and a unique fireworks show and then expecting us to pay the same price for less.
There are no parades or castle shows right now, they’ll have HEA, and Not So Spooky was almost-universally panned. You are paying for low wait times and snacks.
I'm rich now? 😮
Anyone who goes to WDW and can afford an after hours event is doing just fine.

AND running it on the schedule like the parties... AND not running the parties. It's a replacement offer.

People who are used to going to the parties will be directed to this. It's the replacement and that's what guests will compare it to.

The parties have a 25 year history -- Disney won't escape the comparisons simply by saying 'well its a DAH event!!!' - No, its a DAH event running in PLACE OF the parties.

It's an alternative since running parties may not be feasible due to COVID. Closing the parks early for a party isn't as reasonable given the limited capacities - park hopping may not be as much of an option. Character meet & greets may not happen. Shows may not happen.

A shorter After Hours event might simply make more sense. An event distinctly different from the parties.

Disney appears to be saying "we can't do parties yet but we can do this instead". It's apples and oranges, yet some people want to evaluate this AH event as a party, even though Disney is saying it's not a party.

Disney is not going to let a good pandemic go to waste..
This thing is three hours of admission to the Magic Kingdom - no candy, no real parade, some attractions open.
Prices range between, $129 to $199 !

I went back to see what we paid for a REAL Christmas party from the good ol' days (you know, November 2019 :) )

I paid $93 for tickets, it was a real party, 4PM to 12AM, the cookies and pretzels and eggnog and hot chocolate was great, the cookies were of a higher quality and variety than I remembered and there was PLENTY of stations to get your free treats, also a REAL parade and there was special performances in front of the castle, over at the tomorrowland stage and even a cool little show with the disney reindeer in Cosmic Rays, that was a lot of fun! And of course special Fireworks!

Even back then I thought the $93 was still a steep price but the good cookies and everything else helped me rationalize some kind of value.

This thing, I cant even rationalize any value here...

I know everyone is debating the value of this but I am definitely going. Does anyone know what time these tickets usually go on sale?

This isn’t for everyone. We can only come for four days in October for Indigenous People’s Day (I know...poor me lol) with one day at MK. That early in the celebration, I expect crowds. This is an expensive splurge but worth it to us to extend that one day. I’m sure the calculus would differ if you came for a week in September. We’ve never done DAH. After 18 months of covid and losing my mom, we want new experiences. This is one of many we are planning.

It's not a party night. It's an After Hours Event. Compare it to Villains After Hours, not MNSSHP.

And you do get candy (as well as the ice cream). But no stage show.
