Q: What type of ESPN partners are you looking for.

What is the consumer demand for parks, esp, WDW.

Bob: we could do it alone, but, we could do it with other entities for synergy.

CFO: Parks... WDW is down a bit from last year's 50th. Other parks and DCL are strong.

On those park investments over the next 10 years - "we expect those investments to ramp up towards the back half of that 10-year period with more gradual increases in the first few years."
Wonder if Iger will still be around, or any of the current executives to keep that promise...

Why do you think he dodged it? It didn't seem a hard question to tackle?
It was just the PR position mentioned many times.
  • WDW was down this year.
  • Down from what?
  • Last year.
  • Why?
  • Last year was the unprecedented demand year.
  • But they didn't say 'unprecedented demand."
  • Correct, they're assigning that to the 50th Celebration, which we all know was weak. Very weak.

I'm sure the interim CFO is not going to wax eloquently on all the new things coming to WDW to turn around attendance.

Things at WDW have to be completely awful, now and the foreseeable future. SeaWorld and Universal are both like, "We have a little softness for predictable reasons, but no long term worries." Disney... "WDW...never heard of it, lets talk DCL, Disneyland and Asia." If it was the same 3-5% you just say, "like our competitors we had a slight decline."

Now, the scary thing is that if attendance is down as much as Touring Plans estimates, and people are still generally feeling like the experience is expensive, crowded & poor, how does a company even begin to fix it?
