It means she was disgusted by the cartoon, and that Universal made it. You don't understand english well, either. ;)

Would the title have been "Disgusted by Brer Rabbit Cartoon from Disney!!!" if they were the ones that made it? Highly doubtful....

How do you know what I would or would not be disgusted by?

If I was disgusted by something Disney made b/c I did not think it was of good quality, of course I would post about it. It does NOT matter WHO made the crappy animation...it's the fact that one company made a poorly animated cartoon that was done much better by another company. Just b/c the two companies are rivals has nothing to do with it.

These are the facts: Disney made Song of the South. The animation was good for the time it was made in. It is now 2006 and Universal is making a Brer Rabbit cartoon. The animation is crappy for its time. That is the entire point. It's disgusting animation, especially since Disney made their version long before the animation tools we have today were created (which Universal now has access to and aparently decided not to use). Comparing the two, in their time frame, is the point of this post.

Things I am disgusted about with Disney animation is all the sequels they make. Some of the Disney Channel cartoons aren't that great either.

I could also rant about cartoons in general made from a dozen other companies.

I also think some of the computerized animation such as Monster House is not really up to par with Pixar animation. Am I being biased b/c Disney owns Pixar? No. It's my opinion that Monster House looks cheaper than movies done by Pixar. It could still be a good movie, I don't know. I probably won't see it.

Are you happy now?

That is not a fact, it's your opinion. Others may think differently. I just looked at the film's website, and I don't think it looks half bad. The animation looks fine to me, it seems very "colorful." The voice cast is pretty good too.

I thought the animation for Monster House was very nice, and I think the animation in the Dreamworks CGI films is excellent. That is my opinion.

OMG you know what, I am done with this crap. This is ridiculous that only about 5 people actually understand this post.

Too many people want to be "politically correct".

Dave Chappelle: Nick Cannon? Who the hell is Nick Cannon?

haha, sorry i was just reminded of that. but yeah i agree, the animation doesnt look bad. it reminds me of a glossier, more colorful Robin Hood (Disney's). there are different styles of animation, some just dont appeal to others. i for the life of me just cant enjoy anime, but i know a lot of people do. oh well, its just an opinion. this whole thread got blown way out of proportion because it SEEMED at least to some (including myself) that the OP was bashing the movie simply because it was made by universal, but we now understand that the OP does not feel taht way and simply does not like it because it does not appeal her. once again its all just a matter of opinions.

"the classic tales come to life for the first time ever"- the dvd's website...hmm so I guess Song of the South doesn't count?

I haven't seen the trailer yet, but I think there are many more Brer Rabbit stories besides the ones used in Song of the South, and maybe the movie consists of stories beyond those used in SotS as well. If that's the case, then techincally, they're right, though misleading. The characters have been used in a movie before, just not perhaps these stories.

Maybe they're covering stories that weren't covered in Song of the South? *shrug*

The Evidence:

Everything you do not like, you think it "sucks." For a person who is a "young adult," one would think you would be better able to voice your dissenting opinion of something that you cannot embrace.

So, what are we to conclude ?

Anything you don't like you think is "disgusting."

So now you're attacking my wording? Give me a break.

Yea, I don't understand why they don't just release it as part of the Walt Disney Tresures series, just recently they put out a 2 DVD set of all the WWII films and shorts Disney made, and they are pretty offensive by today's standards. I hope they will put the movie out someday

I suppose some people are a fan of constructive criticism instead of stuff like "it stinks" or "it's disgusting". Just see any of the expedition everest threads where people would say stuff similar to "Looks like crap from looking at the video". Those comments usually didn't go over well :)

What's not to love about Chicken Little? I had low hopes bus was very pleasantly surprised.

Ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low....

<img src="http://mrtoad.smugmug.com/photos/84161040-L.jpg"></img>

All that being said, I could care less who makes the flick as long as it's Disney, I mean good...

It's one thing to hate the rival park but it's a whole 'nother one to hate the movies a studio puts out just because you hate the park. Look at the crap WDP/TP has put out over the past few years (Stick It, The Wild, The gy Dog, Eight Below, Annapolis, Chicken Little, Flightplan, Valiant, Herbie: Fully Loaded)....that's not going to make me hate Disney because I hated their movies.

Why judge this film from its trailer, anyway? It might actually be something good. I HATED the Batman Begins trailers, but when I saw the film I absolutely loved it.

"Disgusted by Brer Rabbit Cartoon from Universal!!!"

There's also the fact that it was posted in WDW General Discussion and the OP specifically stated her annoyance with Universal's theme park commercials and their so-called 'rip-off' of Illuminations.

Secondly, I have been away from the internet for over a month b/c I was traveling. Sorry if I didn't know everything about the new Universal show, but what I had read BEFORE I left to travel 3,000 miles from my home was that they were making a show similar to Illuminations with 3 globes. That's all I have heard. I wasn't aware of differences since I had only read that one post (which was probably the first one released about the subject.)

Then if you admit to knowing nothing about the show, then don't come on here spouting off at how they're copying disney when you have zero facts. It's a common complaint of mine, too many people are ready to run off at the mouth about something they know absolutely nothing about, but speak like they do.

Can somebody rename this the "Everyone is really bitter towards one another for some strange reason thread".

Or if that does not work, how about the "Let's jump all over one another thread"?

[Edit] Oops, I forgot my sarcasm faces. :animwink:

There you go assuming, again. Tsk, tsk. I've got news for you. Your assumptions aren't always correct.
