Hmmm.. I'm pretty sure the original poster was knocking it because it was universal as others have also stated. Just tossing my vote in on the block of people that believe the original poster was attacking it because it was by universal, moreso than the fact that its different.

Secondly, I'm so sick of everyone claiming that Universal is copying Illuminations. If you've seen both shows you'd see that they are in no way similar except that both have a big ball in the center.

Wasn't Universal technically first in having a "big globe" at their parks anyway? :zipit:

Enough with the bickering, people. I've always wanted to visit IoA, dare I be condemned for it. I suppose the Universal section of these very forums are all for naught as well?

Posts like this just make me shake my head. If a preview for a cartoon can almost make you vomit, you may want to visit your doctor and get some medication for that.

Illuminations has one big ball that uses LED screens to accentuate the fireworks and the music. Universal has several big balls which they use to play movie clips on, in their case the fireworks help accentuate the movie clips. Only someone with an extreme hatred for Universal or who has just been listening too hard to those on here who do would think they're copying each other. There's only so many ways to display video in a nighttime show. They could have used a water screen, but that would be copying Fantasmic, or they could have lowered video screens over the lake but that would have just been lame.

First off...you know very well that was just a "phrase"/"saying".

Secondly, I have been away from the internet for over a month b/c I was traveling. Sorry if I didn't know everything about the new Universal show, but what I had read BEFORE I left to travel 3,000 miles from my home was that they were making a show similar to Illuminations with 3 globes. That's all I have heard. I wasn't aware of differences since I had only read that one post (which was probably the first one released about the subject.)

Any particular reason you had to hammer home the point that it was Universal? once in the subject.. twice in the body. The last time you mention it you state how other's have the rights to it, but you're disgusted in particular by Universal's version. How many other versions have there been out there?

Also keep in mind that "disgusted" and "revolted" are pretty harsh terms. You use that when comparing a Disney product to a Universal product. I assumed (and still do) you're harboring some Disney is better than Univesal bias overall. I'm probably not the only one.

It's one thing to hate the rival park but it's a whole 'nother one to hate the movies a studio puts out just because you hate the park. Look at the crap WDP/TP has put out over the past few years (Stick It, The Wild, The gy Dog, Eight Below, Annapolis, Chicken Little, Flightplan, Valiant, Herbie: Fully Loaded)....that's not going to make me hate Disney because I hated their movies.

Why judge this film from its trailer, anyway? It might actually be something good. I HATED the Batman Begins trailers, but when I saw the film I absolutely loved it.

There's also the fact that it was posted in WDW General Discussion and the OP specifically stated her annoyance with Universal's theme park commercials and their so-called 'rip-off' of Illuminations.

I don't hate the parks. I go to them. I NEVER said ANYTHING about the parks other than the night show...and if you read my rebuttle to another person about this you will see that I have been away from this site for over a month so I wouldn't know much about other than what I had heard before I left...when the info came out.

And why judge it? B/c the animation SUCKS on the Brer Rabbit cartoon. That's basically all I was saying. I was disgusted and disappointed by Universal's portrayal of the story compared to Disney's version.

Why do so many people on here get offended by an opinion of crappy animation????

Because it was a cartoon about Brer Rabbit not made by Disney....seems to say that they don't like it already just because Universal made it.

Reading is such a lost art....perhaps you'd understand it if there had been pictures to explain it all.

I'm not even a fan of the Universal parks....but to be digusted by a cartoon just because of who made or who didn't is childish.

IMHO I would keep the parks and movies seperate. 90% of the movies Disney has done in the past 5 years SUCKED, along with that horrible channel that bears Walt's name. If I let my opinions of the parks spill over into movies, I might have actually gone to see....HERBIE.... I enjoyed jaws, ET, back to the future, ect. but does that mean I like the parks? no....

Since it's something put out by Universal Pictures it has to suck, just like E.T., Back to the Future, Jaws, Apollo 13, Gladiator, King Kong, Schindler's List, and Jurassic Park did and Miami Vice will on Friday.... :hammer: :brick:

I Have to disagree. E.T. Back To the Future (yes all three) and Jaws are some of my favorite movies of all time.
