Disco Shaman Watch 2017

Plenty of stuffed shirts certainly, but there are a few members that contribute more than just {pick one or more or add your own} : skewed political diatribes, laments that Disneyworld actually changed something so that its not like it was on its opening day, how their last trip was ruined because the cast members didn't act like dancing bears, the lack of Surströmming in every dining location, etc.

My hats off to those who actually answer other visitors questions.
And then they remind you that they truly love Disney and our the biggest fan but point out every possibly wrong detail to be helpful.

The Shaman might not go into full-disco mode....but there's nothing stopping her from thrashing-about-like-she's-choking-to-death-mode like our friend the Alioramus.
latest

Yeah...when Alioramus breaks down, instead of rearing his head back to swallow his prey....he just kind of wiggles and keeps his head down. The worst part is, the lizard he's eating still moves back and forth, so it looks like he's puking it up.

Truly it can be.... a reptile dysfunction.

It would be hilarious if they programmed the AA to disco and brought in a disco ball and played random songs as you went past. YMCA, Staying Alive. Do it on April fools.
As an engineer, I would do that to test the max designated performance limits of that huge AA.

Comments like this are more of the reason why threads get locked, not stupid content.

Could be worse, like claiming the shaman will open a Casino.

There was an hilarious comic about that when the movie was out. A loong long time ago.

I have a feeling the final back up is a video screen that plays q rotation video. I have no doubt with the elaborate movements it will break down. I give it a good 9 months.

Regarding any backup plans:
You get no shaman before you get disco shaman. Creative Lighting Shaman is more likely than Disco, but less than no. If no shaman is chosen, then a filler backdrop becomes the front drop. Also a chance for backup shaman, but I havent heard that much on that, other than it was a possibility at one point.

They should have a Leota-face-like projection ready for the B Mode!

Hats off to you, I needed (yes, needed) to look up Surstromming (sorry no umlaut) out of intense curiosity. That was very amusing, now that I know what it is!

To anyone who wonders why any AA would have a B Mode, or to anyone who complains when an AA breaks down: as someone who has spent heir life working in manufacturing facilities, when you have a machine with mechanical, electronic and hydraulic components that is constantly moving, components are going to wear out and break-it's unavoidable. You can do preventive/predictive maintenance to expand the amount of time between breakdowns, but it will still eventually happen, especially with AAs, which run 7 days a week and have a lot of small, intricate components. The only time we should hold Disney accountable is if AAs remain broken for extended periods of time, as someone had mentioned earlier, or if Disney is not doing their due diligence and performing PMs on them on a regular basis.

I've already seen the backup plans. A Cast Member stands in front of the Shaman, singing your favorite songs from Frozen with a banshee hand puppet on her shoulder. They're calling it "Singin' with the Shaman". Unfortunately it's an up-sell event. $145 plus theme park admission. Includes a Diet Coke and a blue cookie.

This is too expensive, Disney would never approve.

I don't think there will ever be a day it's that bad. With that said since it's so complex it's not far fetched to think range of motion and such COULD potential lessen over time (before a refutb) like any other ride.

If Disney wants to maximize the return on their investment, and doesn't want a repeat of the Yeti situation, wouldn't the most sensible thing to do be to run the Shaman in the "A" mode just long enough to get recorded by vloggers and their own media people for the commercials, and then switch to the maintenance-saving "B" mode once the park is open for the rest of its service life?

It saddens me the complete misunderstanding this person has of the yeti situation.... they would need to gut the entire mountain to fix it. They will someday but not yet.
