So I used my 50% holiday coupon to go to Cap'n Jacks with my husband and two friends last night. While the margarita was strong, the menu was sorely lacking. There was no bread or dinner rolls offered, which I was kind of expecting. Apps consisted of crab cakes, green or ceasar salad, $11 shrimp cocktail, spinach and artichoke dip, and chowder. The mixed green salad came with a choice of ranch or papaya vinaigrette. I had the papaya vinaigrette, which was very nice. My husband, the crab cake afficianado, said they were good, but nowhere near Fulton's.
The entree menu was (in my opinion) even more desolate, offering only seafood paella (which they were not serving last night, having replaced it with a rather good shrimp scampi over linguini), twin lobster tails, 'homemade' pot roast, and some other nondescript items. The scampi was very good, and my companions all ordered the pot roast. I tasted it, and it was good, but the gravy on it did not have a 'homemade' taste.
After my discount and tip, it was $127. Part of me is glad I didn't waste my money paying full price there. Another part of me is ticked off that I wasted a 50% coupon. Next time, I'll DEFINITELY spend double the money and go to Fulton's. Also, Cap'n Jacks now takes ADR's, so call WDW-DINE or you may have a wait.
