Dirty Hotel Glasses!

I remember seeing a show on TV called Hotel Babylon. It is a drama, but it is supposed to be based on things that have really happened. In one scene, we see a lady clean a bathroom, use a dirty towel to wipe the floor and the toilet, and then polish a glass with the same towel. Since then, I have always taken washing up liquid with me on holiday, and wash any cups that we use.

I actually saw the story on the maid cleaning the toilet etc with the towell and then the glass on the news not too long ago. They had her on hidden camera. It's absolutely disgusting. I think they should have made her drink from the glass to teach her a lesson. That is just GROSS!

I saw the same report.:hurl: I will never use a glass in a hotel room again. The last time we stayed in a hotel they had the plastic ones that were wrapped. It was one of the first things that I noticed.

It's really no trouble to grab a handful of plastic cups from home and toss them in your luggage when you travel.

As a seasoned "road warrior" for work, it's what we've always done.

One look at any of the cups or glasses in a hotel room will scare you off for good!

Bring enough to be able to use a new one each time to prvent the spread of any germs or disease.

Also...and this CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH...wash your hands every chance you get. Be it on a train, plane, cruise, in a hotel, or even in your own home. It's the best way to stay healthy and prevent the spread of germs.

CHEERS!

^Exactly. If a room doesn't have foam or plastic cups, I request it downstairs. I never use the hotel glasses and as far as I know, I've never become deathly ill from NOT drinking from them.

Whenever we check into a hotel, the first things we do are...
flush the toilet
turn on the shower
turn down the beds to make sure the sheets and blankets are clean
check for disposable drinking cups

The toilet and shower are vital checks...no sense unpacking if there is a problem there that may require a room change. The sheets and cups simply require a call to the desk if there is a problem with either.
