The very first sentence in this thread? "If you aint dirrty, then you aint herre to partay"? Uhhmm... that's Christina, from her new single "Dirrty". (With a lil bit of Nelly mixed in for good measure.) And 'Get Nasty' is indeed from a Britney song, 'Boys'. But, it's something I say ALL THE TIME in real life. (Like, you have no idea, lol... i even said it at Wal*Mart the other day :lookaroun) It has become my "Whassup". Lol. And I never forced anyone to read this post, so you know... whatever.

Just FYI, you may think you're being smart by claiming that you're gonna talk about what you want, but you only look more immature. Most (if not all) of the adults around here see right through your 14-year old mentality and are getting really sick of it. Take a hint from the guys on this board who have a ton of repsect like Now and MSU...they didn't become mods because they're smart-mouthed and immature spouting off at everyone who will listen and pushing their own opinions onto people. They got where they are because they help people and dont' say "Screw you, it's my world, and you're gonna live in it."
You and I talked on AIM awhile back and you didn't get it then. I told you that I was trying to help you with the way you were perceived on the boards, but you kept talking about britney. See where I'm going. That's how people are starting to think of you...the guy who can't shut up about britney. I'm not going to sit and debate her with you, because it's pointless, and you will like who you like. However, you seem very brainwashed, and don't comprehend why we dont' see things your way, so you try to force us to, and when we don't you get angry and tell us off.
I like you, I really do. But your age shows in most of your posts. It's threads like this that have a bad tendancy to get you in hot water with other people because you put something in a public forum and expect people to not respond if they don't like her. Well you want to talk about free speech? We have our opinions and a right to express them too. If you want mindless followers, post on a britney message board. And don't give me the "If you don't want to read it dont' click the thread" crap. I'll do whatever I please, after all it IS a public forum, and this IS chit chat, so I can say whatever I want, as long as it's within the TOS.
I guess I'm just really getting sick of people using chit chat to push their own ideals and such when it should be an open discussion.....no matter what your opinion is. If you post a subject on oregano, expect some people to be on your side who love it, but expect and equal if not worse response from those who can't stand it. (Stupid example, but you get the point). If you want to push an ideal or don't want us to voice ours, then don't start a thread on the subject. If you are willing to open your mind and try to see the world from a different angle every so often, maybe you could see things from another pair of shoes.
Then you'll begin to learn and grow.....It's amazing how the people who I admire the most are the people who had to learn the lessons of life the hard way, because they chose a different path, and ended up much wiser because of it.

There are always going to be threads that some people dislike. That is why the board is divided into threads. If you do not like a particular thread, do not read it. It really is a simple as that.
Chit Chat is meant for any discussion that fits in with the guidelines. Therefore, if someone wishes to talk about Britney, the Osbornes, or whoever, then that is fine. For those of you who do not wish to participate in that discussion, just ignore the thread and it wont bother you.

THANK you Steve! I was begining to wonder if any discussion about Britney was forbidden! And Justin... you HAD to mention her didn't you? (lol, jk) Of course as soon as anyone mentions her I suddenly somehow get the blame shifted on me...
And Fievel.. I'm curious as to how your "Post anything you want, just expect both sides to join in" philosophy goes with your "Damn it Jake, stop talking about Britney or I'll ignore you... again" philosophy. Something isn't clicking... If I want to talk about Britney (Which, might I say AGAIN, I didn't start this time) I can do it. It's called CHIT CHAT for a reason!

I was gonna stay out of this, but since you insist.....
I know that anytime you gather a group of people as diverse as this one, that you are going to periodically have disagreements and even arguments. I even enjoy a good disagreement now and then, because a good healthy discussion allows you to see what another person sees, and even though you may not agree with what they think and say, you can go away having learned at least something from the experience.
That being said, I feel like I cannot and will not argue with somebody like you, who will only see one side of an argument, because they are filled with everything they want to hear about a subject, while not listening to the negatives. Whether this is simply because of your age, or you are really that close-minded is up for debate. I hope and think that it is your age, and that the wisdom and experience will come with time.
However, your recent little tantrum on here has done nothing but prove my point. I have lost any and all respect I have ever had for you because you refuse to give any to anybody else, and continue to carry yourself with the same selfish attitude that you always have. You seem to be in your own little world. But the sad thing is that you have such a sheltered existance that you believe the rest of the world is really missing out on something by not being a part of it. Fact is the rest of the world has been to your little planet, and realized at one point or another that there are better and bigger things in life than worrying about defending a pop star who could care less about them to the death.
Soon after 9/11, the onion (madision, wi) had an article entitled "America longs to care about stupid crap again"....under the headline was a picture of britney spears. Am I saying that she is this "stupid crap"...no (well...maybe). What I am saying is that there are much more important things in life than putting yourself on the line, and making yourself look stupid every time you try and defend her. You are not making her look better, you are making yourself look much more immature, and people have begun to lose respect, as you have started to see.
I hope you grow out of this phase, because I DO think you're a good kid. However, until that point, you're going to remain on my ignore list. Not because I don't want to hear what you have to say, but because you refuse to give me the same opportunity that I give those who debate with me. I will willingly listen to ANYBODY as long as they are intelligent and are willing to open their minds to what I have to say.
You simply refuse to care about anybody but yourself and those like you......sad really.
I hope you read this carefully, and take these words to heart. Maybe if you work at it, you can gain back that respect you've lost for yourself.
