Dinosaur VS. Jurassic Park

What are the differences between these two rides? I know that Jurassic Park is a water type ride and Dinosaur isn't. Which one do you think is better? I've never ridden any of them because I'm scared of dinosaurs (when I say weird, I mean WEIRD!). Which AA's do you think are better?

Being that you are afraid of dinosaurs, don't ride DINOSAUR.

As far as JP goes, you could prob. get away with that one.

As far as which is better....

It would depend on what you are looking for. Dinosaur has a ton of audio animatronics, and outstanding effects.
JP is rather boring, but has a killer drop.

1) They both have good AA's.

2) I'd say DINOSAUR is definately scarrier. The T-Rex at the end of Jurrasic Park isn't that thrilling.

3) DINOSAUR is more fast-paced and moving, whereas Jurrasic Park is much slower, except for the last drop...

4) Both have exceptional themeing...

Overall, I love DINOSAUR.... it's one of my all-time favorites... to me, Jurrasic is just okay...

I still probably won't ride either one! I have a weird thing with dinosaurs! Ever since my aunt took me to some park where they had AA dinos, I've been scared all my life!

Maybe you should file a lawsuit. Easy money. ;)

avoid DINOSAUR if you are afraid of them even in the least! it is easily the most frightening attraction i've ever been on. the dinos are very realistic, it is very loud, and the carnotaurus (or whatever he's called) pops out and tries to eat you about every 5 seconds! it seriously gave me nightmares, and i was 23 when i rode it!

JP wasn't scary AT ALL after riding DINOSAUR first. I don't even know if I could bring myself to ride DINOSAUR again when we go back in January. Although, having closed my eyes for a good part of the 2nd half of the ride, I would like to actually see the big finale!

Dinosaur is a dozen times scarier than Jurrasic Park. At JP you really only have two "scare" dinos, the raptors on the way up the lift (even scarier is when they aren't functioning and are sitting there, stairing at you from the dark), and then the big one at the end. None of them really move very fast, though, and most of the attraction is either outside or well-lit.

Dinosaur is almost totally in the dark, and the sonsof-u-know-whats actually appear to chase you in some scenes. It's the only dark ride that has ever truly scared me. That's why I love it. :)

never been to JP at orlando .. but when I saw the building for JP in California, my jaw nearly dropped down ... this building is BIG ... I thought .. "If they ever build a real jurassic park .. that would be the scale for their buildings!"

the animatronics in the ride weren't that cool .... the falling ford explorer effect wasn't workin .. only the löast trex was cool ... overall when it comes to effects I prefer countdown to .. erm :lookaroun .. dinosaur :)

I don't even remember that part.

right before you go up that dark lifthill.. were tracks in the wall on the right side
on top of those tracks was a life scale ford explorer (painted like those automated jp ride cars)... you could see this car was supposed to fall down .. but it didn't :(

That's only in the Universal Studios Hollywood version...

 Me too! It took me some years to be able to open my eyes during the second half of the ride and actually see the carnotaurus (is that the correct name???) Jurassic Park is ok.. The only great moment is the end, when the T-rex comes towards you. I think that's scarier than the one at Dinosaur. But the ride as whole... Dinosaur is much scarier, and much better planned. It keeps you terrified for most of the time!

From all of the reviews, I can tell that Dinosaur is the better one. Even though I'll still never ride it, it's nice to just have some reviews and have a thread to discuss some rides and attractions in!

Dinosoar is so much better. The lighting (imagineers black light paint) is amazing. The ride system is much better and the animatronics are amazing. The last time I went to IOA I remember seeing holes in the dinosoars and the machines inside. Disney got this one hands down.

DINOSAUR and Jurassic Park are the only two rides in Orlando that actually frighten me.

That being said, I love them both because of that.

I'm with you, dinosaurs are SCARY. And the ending of DINOSAUR never fails to startle me, even when I brace myself for it.

I think you could handle JP, but DINOSAUR might be a little tough. You could do it with your eyes closed, I suppose. Then you feel the motion of the car, which is cool.

I have only done JP at IOA once (got WAY too wet). The TRex at the end wasn't scary at all for me. It is out the entire time you are coming up to the hill. Is that normally not how it goes? It just sort of swung around while we were turning the corner and preparing for the spill.

As for Dinosaur, I think it's great. I love that ride system (although I wish tey would bump the program up). I (and I know few agree) find CTX/Dinosaur rivals Spidey.

I agree with the others. DINOSAUR is the only attraction not just in Orlando, but anywhere, that actually frightens me. I scream every time we go right underneath the carnatour (the roaring feels like it's RIGHT on top of you)... they did a really good job or making it seem dangerous, adventurous, and scary as you know what... lol
