I agree with all of you: Let the fog come back!! I love fog, it can especially be done very well into certain illusions in show pieces. But besides that, I for one agree with the veterans of the ride, and I like Countdown to Extinction a lot more than how it is now.
I, for one, personally think that the whole experience needs to be upgraded. The actual ride per ce, is good, but one, they need to fix some good effects they had in the past, and also improve current ones that are outdated and then also the mechanical parts of it and the storyline needs to be fixed. For me, I think that the building itself, would bring peoples attention to think that it's something small and not big, or of big importance, because the last time I went there, I went there with a Disney-first timer, and he looked at the building and was like, a thrill ride is in THAT building?!? The building doesn't capture people's attention, and when you look at the building, lots of times you think nothing or something small is in there. Like, for example, you can look at MS, and see the whole planets, the music, the lighting, etc., and it makes you think, "Hey, something's big there", and even right next door, Tes TRack, people have one look at it, and see that it's a fun ride, by looking at the theming, and also gain interest into why there is a giant loop outside the building, and they even get more curious when they hear the cars going by.
In Dinosaur though, you only see a small building, and some sculptures of dinosaurs and that's it. I think they should upsize the building, and also do big orchestral themes, and also like posters as it had in the beginning, as I remembered before the transition to Dinosaur, there were signs in the outside saying "The Dino Institue is having a soft opening, and wants you to come in, etc." I think they should do that, and also get people interested things from the outside, like, since the time travel obviously needs power, build like a a fake but looking real transformer grid outside, and to set a thing of interest, right before you bend the corner to see the building, you could put a wrecked time rover, flipped upside down, giving off smoke, and you hear dinosaur roars in the background, and there is a ginat gaping hole that has been chewed on in the transformer grid metal fence. Going in the queue, to introduce the story and all in how the queue is right now, it's chopped up, and the first time visitor will be like, "Huh? What do they mean by that?" I think, with the upsizing of the whole queue, they should do like when you enter, give you an overview of the dinosaurs, the prehistoric history, you see some dinosaur fossils, what contributions the Insitutue has made to the field of palentology through little videos in the wall, and then when you take some stairs to go upstairs, you go past some executive offices, and you hear a radio that is of a guy trying to search for some people who have left the institute searching for the dinosaur and the missing guy outside. Then, on ceiling, you see some overhead monitors as see some security camaras showing places like the transformer grid outside, the loading bay, and several other places inside the Insitute. You go further down the hallway, and you see a round room (like where the Carnotaur skeleton is right now) but having a a Time Rover in the middle, with little videos on how they invented, and then also, you get a glimpse by looking at the outer walls, and you see some of the real Time Rovers passing by the loading station.
Up above on overhead screens and also screens on the sound without sound having readouts on the Time Rovers themselves, how the fuel is doing, the time travel equipment readouts, similar to what you see in the circular hallway in MS, when you see the screen with the readouts, and also, for a vehicular comparison like this, another example is the new Batman Begins screensaver that just went out a few days ago (and is really cool btw). In that circular room, you hear the radio up above in the speakers in the ceiling.
Then, from there, you would go into the preshow as it would be right now, but the preshow has been updated, with new people and characters, and the storyline has been changed: Instead of going back in the past to search for dinosaurs, you are going back because another group is stuck there and needs help, as there has been no word on them for a for three days now. Also, the theming shoudl continue in this room, like having some of the museum's past exhibitions, and also some awards they have gotten, and also some other corporations that have been helped in the past (and to make jokes, like you can put ITC (International T-something Corporation form the movie Timeline, InGEN from Jurassic Park, Cyberdyne Systems and Cyber Research Systems from the Terminator movies, or even, as a little homage, add X-s Tech in the mix

) From there, you are lead into a giant industrial feel, you go through some rooms with dozens of pipes and power generators and coolant tanks and other pipes and electrical wires, and you see klaxons and red and yellow lights going off everywhere, and even some smoke from the fuel intakes is spilling out. Then, after spending some time in the hallways, you get to see the mechanics and machines you see that are fixing the other Time Rovers. You go down, and it's basically the same area as right now, and you hear radio traffic of the control operators saying like, "TR-7, you are clear for entry," and then you'll get the occasional klaxon with that has the sound saying, "Attention: Fuel tank pressure nearing critical," and it then it goes all loud, and says, "Attention: Fuel pressure tank at critical levels. Release in 5...4..3..2..1.." And then the hallways fill with smoke as air is taking out of the tanks to relieve the pressure.
When you go the stairs, you mostly see the same thing like it is now, minus the blue metal frame that says Time Rover Dispatch Area, and replace with a cooler sign, and also minus the banners from the Institute on the side. Mostly, the whole loading platform remains the same, the colors remain the same, and the ride itself nearly remains the same, except for some scenes in which you go under some trees and you find the car up above you hanging form the vines of the trees, and nearly falls on you. Also, after you encounter the flying Pteradactyl that doesn't move now, you go down as you do now, but you go into a ridge, and go over some water, and avoid some prehistoric crocodiles and then in the car, you see some little screens of the car, like the speed, a sonar, a radar, like the screens on Test Track. The hot breath of the Carnotaur will return by using the same thing on AE, but not the headrests: some big sized air ticklers, and that should do it. Also, for the final scene, you would pick up the people stranded in the past, and when you go around the ride as well, you see some skeletons, telling you some people didn't make it. Lastly, also in the final scene with the carnotaur head going down on you, I think they should replace it with a giant scene with the last of the dinosaurs, and the meteor shower is coming, the whole meteors rock the Time Rover, and finally, when the Carnotaur's head goes down, a giant meteor comes along, and decides to hit you, and when it does, it's when they transport you back, but not without experiencing a singluar really bright white light, as you drop in the midst of the light and feeling the heat of the the meteor, and everything goes dark after that when you're falling, and you finally get back to the whole Insitute. So, all in all, I think they should get some of the AA's upgraded, top quality skins, as I noticed the last tiem I cam,e when the carnotaur's body moved the skin jiggled everywhere like Jell-O, and also make it bumpier and faster.
So, that's all of my opinon on this, and any suggestions or explanations needed, I'll be glad to help. I'll put up the pics of what the queue and the readouts should look like in a seperate post a bit later. Hope you guys liked it!!
