Dinosaur has seen better days

WondersOfLife

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Wait, you mean it actually chased you recently?!
Yes!! My wife yelled "its actually moving!!"

Now... All it did was go forward. Nothing else was moving. No mouth or anything. It's been so long since I've seen it move that I wasn't even sure if anything else was SUPPOSED to move.

So. There's that. I haven't seen it move since I was in high school.

Went yesterday and Dinosaur was down. Did a few rides and just ended up walking into Tiffins instead (which is quite good!)

Can confirm that Dinosaur is in rough shape. I rode it today and I counted 4 animatronics that were down. The first Carnotaurus was not working along with the dinosaur in the first room that is eating another one. Even my mom noticed the broken effects and after the ride, she asked me if Disney turns down the lights so people don't notice the broken animatronics.

Do you think they will put some TLC into it before the summer months hit?
Absolutely not

First, the summer is slow. They won’t spend a dime

Second, they have not maintained rides to an acceptable level for years. Any with AAs have significant, embarrassing failures at present.

We went on dinosaur for the first time in probably 3-5 years a couple weeks ago.

It’s literally not worth riding. That bad

Part of me feels like Disney is beginning to adopt the "Eh, it's possibly closing soon" mantra with Dinosaur.

That might be part of it, but Dinosaur isn't unique here. Many attractions on property have broken effects, and the thinking behind this is, "why fix it?" There's not really any immediate financial incentive to invest in working effects, to WDC management.

Unless something really breaks.

The parks will be packed all summer.

Tens of millions of guests per year accept it just fine. If you want to say its not to the Disney standard - thats something different that I can agree with.

Can't agree more. But it was never worth riding.

Ummm…thought you were in Orlando?

…you haven’t hard yet?

Maybe not “tens of millions” this time around.

It was cool in its day. But old and bad management isn’t a “guest satisfaction” kinda driver.

??????? Dinosaur was a great attraction back when it was working properly. Now over the last 5–10 years or so, I agree it's gotten worse. Not even worth riding in its current state. But it used to be a really cool attraction, especially for someone who liked dinosaurs.
My dad said the same. He says he has no interest to ride it anymore due to how much is broken. It's a shame since I really like Dinosaur. Indiana Jones is the better version of this ride system no doubt but Dinosaur was still a great ride when everything was working.

Straight up delusion.
That’s why they are offering discounts. Talk to DVC owners ask them how things are going with renting their points.

Parks are going to be slow.

I don’t know why that hurts your feelings so much but you will have to overcome it.

When was it truly last passable, as in not perfect but enjoyable.

hard to say....from my understanding the decline was more gradual. The refurb that happened in 2016 though is in my opinion what killed the attraction. That's when they changed the lighting and painted the dinosaurs glow-in-the-dark. After that the whole thing looked super cheesy.

yeah, Indy was always superior but Dinosaur was still a cool attraction. Definitely better than the vast majority of rides commissioned under IPger.

It sucks, its always sucked. I rode before the park ever opened. On the first day paying guests were allowed in. It sucked then. It sucks now. It shakes you back and forth and up and down. There are no thrills, the story doesn't make a lick of sense, and the time spent on waiting for and riding this attraction can be better spent by doing literally anything else. Even sleeping.

Who said it hurts my feelings? The parks being slow is not what you all seem to think it is. Will they be down from 2022? Sure. Will they be 'slow'? Absolutely not.

Any crowd level where you don’t need to purchase G+ in unacceptable to management.

The stock is already in the toilet and thats with the Street having goo goo eyes for the parks.

This is one Jenga piece you just can’t pull out.
