Dinosaur has seen better days

Yeah gots to admit the queing, the pre show was just so dishelved and unorganised - people are now just skipping the video and going straight to the ride at times it appears. Just all very dated and old, for what is actually a very decent attraction.

How are things looking here? Anyone been on recently? Found a POV from 4 weeks ago (at least when uploaded), and the first carnotaurus looked like it had been replaced with a substitute stationary figure or something (which I didn't know was ever done for the first one).

Ugh, Dino on a stick is back..😩
Double Ugh, Charging Carno is Stationary..😫
Triple Ugh..the photo Carno is so quiet and doesn't flail around as good..:banghead:

It's about as bad as it was in Jan 2020 when I last went..

This honestly needs a year and half refurb to get every dang problem this ride needs fixed and make it what the warning signs states..

Rode it this morning and everything was working. Only glaring issue was the Dino that charges at the truck was stationary.

Time for a status check on Dinosaur! Anyone been on recently?
When I rode it on the day of the anniversary, everything for the most part seemed good, Alioramus was stuck and the 1st Carno seemed static but other than that it was pretty fine.

Dinosaur's a ride that's grown on me a lot recently. I was indifferent about it for years, but I've really started to love it over the past year & a half. I don't know why but it's become really charming for me.

I've become fond of Restaurantasuarus too. The theming is so much fun & I feel it's one of the better "Generic burgers & chicken" spots in the parks.

Chester & Hesters can bulldozed tomorrow & I wouldn't care though lmao

I'd miss the cheesy plot but I'd be fine with a remake of Dinosaur. Just keep dinos in DAK! I feel replacing them would tear out a chunk of that park's soul. It's almost like removing Adventureland out of MK.
I agree with you. I have been a huge Dinosaur fan (the attraction, not the film), but probably because it feels so unlike what Disney would make today and unique. I rode it a few months ago again, perhaps for the last time, and thought.. okay this is clearly dated and I can see it needs a lot of work and I understand why they would want to replace it. You can ditch the Dino Institute theme and the campy elements, but a dinosaur is literally on the park's logo and young boys will probably always love dinos and I think they still deserve a presence in the park.

But to be realistic, Disney will no longer create any E-ticket attraction without a recognizable existing IP (at least in the states), the most recognizable Dinosaur related IP is not owned by Disney and has arguably the better attraction a few miles up I-4. I would love for Disney to build the boneyard rollercoaster that was planned 20+ years ago in the plot of Dinorama, but it would forever be compared to VelociCoaster, even if they would be apples and oranges in terms of experiences and theming.

If Joe Rhode were still with the company we might have a fighting chance with something Dinosaur related, but I think Moana is a given at this point, and probably Zootopia too if we're being honest here. Neither fit this park. But people said that about Pandora. At least that film had themes of conservation though.
