Man, this is crappy news for me. The original Sep 30 date was perfect. Now it's going to reopen the day that I leave WDW :(.

Ya, the new date has screwed me as well, I actually really like this ride and was looking forward to riding it, so its a bit of a bummer for me too:(

I'm gutted too! We'll be there Sep 26 - Oct 4 and so no chance to ride my other half's fave AK ride :-(
Annoyingly his fave at MK is also BTMRR, so he's pretty grumpy right now!

What I heard was building work. Maybe we'll get lucky and get some of the effects turned back on after all these years but who knows.

Just got off Dinosaur and noticed a second Raptor on the left that pokes up out of bushes that I never noticed before but that's not why I'm posting here.

The photo Carnotaurus is currently broken and is stuck in an absolutely hilarious position. I laughed so hard when I saw him :hilarious:

Fix this ride Disney.

those raptors are usually added in places when "main dinosaur" is broken.

I do hope there is a new lighting package with this refurb. Only having certain moments when the meteor strike comes is far and few..having more projections going on thoughout the ride would make it more exciting.

I also do wonder if there is plans on updating the pre-show? Doubtful tho as it is pretty nostalgic....But, wouldn't it be great if they got Phylicia Rashad & Wallace Langham back to update it...

That's too bad that it wasn't up to par. :(

Honestly though, the ride has looked better the past few years anytime I've ridden it, that it did for many years before. Overall, it has been quite good since 2014...at least when I've been there. Hopefully a long refurb will allow them to fix any show issues, not only structural ones.

Just did this ride the other day and it was in rough shape.
1. Raptor head was a joke lol. It was on a stick and not hidden very well

2.styracosaurus was begging a tarp thing.

3. 1st raptor barely moved

4. 1st carnotaurus barely moved

5. Long neck was twitching.

And etc...... Plus time tunnels had trouble with audio.

So glad this is getting help but it needs to have better maintenance

Don't tell my daughter but I'm secretly glad this ride is going to be down for refurb so I can actually catch the FoW show and she won't bug me to go on over and over again. I like the attraction but will save so much time by skipping Dinoland altogether except for the Nemo show. Looking forward to catching it next time when everything, hopefully, is fixed and shiny.

Well, I can understand not being enamored of Dinoland, but it does have a very nice QS restaurant. And while I'd say Flame Tree has the better food, Restarauntasaurus has excellent theming and detail PLUS no ducks biting at your legs asking for food.

i wonder how extensive this refurb is going to be im not just talking about the length of time more so the details. is this just going to be a "touch up refurbishment" or will it be drastic?

There is major plumbing problems for a long time with Dinosaur. The path of the vehicles flood. It isn't only the broken show items, it will be more the physical infrastructure that will not be seen by guests but CMs are going to be real happy is finally fixed. Major clean-up everytime this attraction goes down during the day.

yes infrastructure is vital to keeping a ride running. Maybe before the 20 year anniversary of the park they could get all the old effects running again so that the attraction can be experienced at it's best.
