Dinner suggestions

Hello to all
We will be at WDW the third week of April, staying at the Carribean Beach Resort. I am looking for suggestions for dinner at WDW. There will be four of us including our two teenage sons. I plan to do a late dinner at Epcot's Rose and Crown one night but I need to fill in a couple of other nights.

I guess it all depends on the types of food that you like. We always Have dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary, Mama Melrose is a favorite in MGM. We really enjoyed the seafood buffet in the Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club. The Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK has a very nice all you care to eat Character dinner, 'Ohana in the Polynesian (esp at fireworks time) is nice, but pricey... worth it IMHO. Check out Deb's site for menus...

Personally, unless we are planning a Character meal we always make our PS the evening before from our Resort. We have made PS from MGM for the Concourse on a whim (in July) and we given one a half hour later. We had just enough time to get there.

You will see people all dressed up, casual and even in shorts and tees, the food is nice and you can watch the monorail go thru. Last year we got mooned!

Thanks
The Concourse Steakhouse sounds nice. When is the best time of day to make a priority seating?
If you are into Steaks, I would suggest either Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT or the Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club resort. Both are excellent!!! Belle

Where to begin....there are about 100 eating establishments in the World, some for every taste and any number of themes.

At MGM, we always enjoy ourselves at 50's Prime Time Cafe. For a more upscale meal, The Brown Derby.

Epcot has the most to offer in one location. Le Cellier is great for steaks, we've always enjoyed Chef's de France, Marakkesh in Morocco is an undiscovered treat. Italy is good, but a bit pricy. I also like Mexico and it provides a really nice atmosphere...just a bit on the crowded side.

MK doesn't thrill me for dinners, but Tony's or Liberty Tree are nice although Liberty Tree now has character dinner which we now avoid.

There are the resorts restaurants. GF has two superior restaurants (plus V&A's which is kind of in a class by itself), Ohana at Poly, Concourse at Contemporary and two nice restaurants at WL. AKL has two superior sites, Boma is a favorite of many.

Flying Fish at Boardwalk is very nice.

Finally, there is Downtown Disney. Wolfgang Puck Cafe (downstairs) is a nice change of pace, I also like Fultons that can be on the pricy side.

Well that would be where we would stop if you were travelling with me. :slurp:

Our fav's were the Concourse steak house and the Califorina Grill.

Our biggest disappointments were Cindys ( they are just to busy to give good service or quality food, not their fault at all and they do give it their best effort, just too many people all want to eat there.)

And

Liberty Tree tavern (Same as Cindy's but the staff did not seem to try as hard, the dinning room was loud, We were sat at a table with a uncleaned up spilled soda, It was LOUD. And again because of the volume expected to be put out the qualilty of the food was not there. Oh yeah did I mention it was REALLY LOUD!!!!!!!)

The quality of food and service at any restaurant, inside or ouside of WDW, is the sole responsibility of management, the kitchen and the servers. Poor or inept service should not be blamed on the amount of customers or the rooms configuration. WDW charges asks a hefty price for dining at a restaurant and they should deliver without excuse.

One more thought....dinner show
Have you considered Hoop de do Review? A fun evening, even for teenagers...especially if they get selected to "assist".

Or for the hubby if the pretty singer sits on his lap and sings to him. :lookaroun

I would recommend the rain forest cafe at either Animal Kingdom or Downtown Disney. It is fun for a family and the food is excellent and not very expensive.

For the teens, I'd say OHANA at the POLY for the all you can eat BBQ feast, and The BIERGARTEN in Germany (Epcot) for their buffet and Octoberfest Band. Both are fun and "cool" sit down dinners for the teens!

Great food for Mom and Dad too!

There are many great places to eat at WDW. Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is perfect for the seafood lover, but also offers a wide selection of non-seafood food for those who prefer different tastes. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness is an entertaining and fun dinner show that everyone should enjoy. Other places worth mentioning are the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk (sons would especially enjoy this), Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco) and Chefs de France (France) in Epcot are good places if you wish to get a taste of international food, and the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary for great steaks. This is just a brief list of the many great places to eat around WDW.

Akershaus in Norway if you're in the modd for something a little different, but I think I saw something recently that they are going to 'princess meals' all day.
Germany has a good buffet, too.
Prime Time at Disney MGM is good and we like Sci-Fi. (It sometimes gets bad food reviews, but the meals we've had have been good and the atmosphere is unique.
Hoop de Doo is an excellet time, (I can say as Davy Crockett's angel).

The boys will love you for bringing them to see the belly dancer in the Morroco restaurant:) For lot's of energy and just a rally good time, Biergarten in Germany is great! The Hibachi grill at Tipanyaki, japan is a good family time too. They have pretty good chefs there with lot's of fun grill tricks! The Coral Reef has the best dessert on the planet (The Tidal Wave:D ) and the seafood is pretty good too. the aquarium runs the length of the restaurant if any of them are into that sort of thing. Also for just great tasting food, Alfredo's is wonderful.

Have a great time on your trip no matter what you choose!

I just HAVE to throw my $.02 in on this one:

If you haven't already done so,
GO TO THE HOOP DEE DOO REVUE!!!

In all of our trips to WDW we hadn't even heard about it, then I started reading trip reports last summer and I learned about it. I started researching it and found that >98% of the reviews said HDD was WONDERFUL. Everyone absolutely loved it and had nothing but great things to say. Whenever we mentioned HDD when we were in WDW people around us would be like "Oh you're going to Hoop Dee Doo?? It's soo good. You're going to have a wonderful time!". We made PS in August (for Jan) and we were seated in the second row in the center! (They base seating on when your PS is made).

All in all, the food was great, the show was awesome and the sangria nummy :slurp: . GO SEE IT.
