What are your thoughts on our choices

Chef Mickey Dinner
Garden Grill **
Spirit of Aloha **
Ohana's **
Boma
Tony's
Liberty Tree Tavern **
Whispering Canyon
Tusker House
Le Cellier
Chef Mickey Breakfast **

We made the reservations with the hope that free dining will be offered. If not we will cancel all but the ones with a ** by their names. I am a picky eater and I love the buffet options.

Made all the reservations online today but the Lua - it would not let me book that fat in advance, I had to call that one in.

178 dyas but whose counting !!

Chef Mickey Dinner - love - always a good time and good meal

Garden Grill ** - I would like to try this once but I never want to "waste" a TS on it b/c I have heard so many mixed reviews on it

Spirit of Aloha ** - I have not done this one

Ohana's ** - Good stuff!

Boma - Love! Try the upside down pineapple cheese cake - it changed my life!

Tony's - I could take it or leave it

Liberty Tree Tavern ** - I preferred it as a character meal b/c the food is very "stoffers" to me

Whispering Canyon - hated this one - I am all for noise and I get the pun but it was aweful!

Tusker House - I prefer Yak and Yeti at AK

Le Cellier - YUM!!!

Chef Mickey Breakfast ** - Love love!

:brick:The only one that my family and I didn't like on your list, was Tony's, we found that since they've changed their menu, the food isn't what we wanted. We loved the old fashioned Spaghetti restaurant, with all the traditional Italian dishes, but with the new menu it's more "new cuisine" and we aren't as fond of it. It's a shame because that used to be one of my oldest daughters favorite restaurants.

What are your thoughts?

The characters are better then the food at GG, but we had tons of interaction whenever we've gone

We love Ohana & Chef Mickey's and so do our kids

Tony's & Boma are just not for us. And my 7yo son will not be caught dead at Akershus even tho Mommy wants to try it

We haven't been to Le Cellier in a few years cuz last time we went there we were a group of 15 so the meal just took a LONG time so our boys haven't wanted to go back cuz they remember it taking a long time to eat. Maybe we'll try lunch next time.

My suggestion for Sci fi is this, do lunch not dinner. We have found the lunch menu to be more appealing. You are eating in a very dark place. Some of the dinner options are just hard to eat in the dark

Sci Fi is the one I can never figure out how I feel. The food seemed average at best, and I hate the fact that with a family of 4, two people will always have their backs to the others. Yet, I love the "sitting in the car" idea...and the drive-in movie idea, with the really cheesy film clips is really neat too. I just get confused on how I feel, so I don't go back...

I had the same issue, ate there about 10 years ago. DW wanted to give it a shot, chose dinnerinstead of luch, as I might as well with free dining.

about Tusker House, while it is a good choice, if you plan on going to lunch, make sure that it is done before 12/4 because when they begin the character lunch, it is going to supposedly be the end for the Nemo Musical dining package.

Read a little lower, my final decsions did not include Tusker House. Character dining had very little inpact on our decisions as it is just the wife and I. The info is solid though in case it was a factor, thanks

If you are on the dining plan and like a really great steak and a wonderful experience then i would consider trading le cellier for the yatchman steakhouse, the large porterhouse is to die for and since le cellier became a signature restuarant i don't believe the cuisine is worthy of signature status. Don't get me wrong le cellier is still one of my favorites i just don't believe that since you take the same menu and up the prices that you can call it a signature experience. Imho

I am torn between Le Cellier and Yatchman, it seems to be a matter of taste as many peple choose one or the other.

Regarding le Cellier: we ate there over the holidays last winter and had a GREAT meal! Kids and adult and grandparents all loved it! The filet was da bomb! Haven't tried the Yachtsman to compare, though.

Regading your Chef Mickey's decision: we have always loved the CM *dinner*. During our last stay, we made the mistake of trying it for breakfast/brunch instead of dinner (we had too many other dinners scheduled out). It was on Christmas morning and the food was below par (specifically: the selections and the desserts). The dinner is where it's at at CM!

We ate at Garden Grill at Epcot when our oldest son was young. The food was good (but the trouble is: if you're used to buffets, sometimes having a fixed family style meal is a little of a let down since there are fewer choices). But it's good nonetheless. We had tons of character one-on-one attention there (Chip and Dale are dressed like farmers...so cute!). Also, it's a rotating restaurant with a view of the Land boatride. It's a neat atmosphere.

Also, regarding your Liberty Tree Tavern. We ate there for Christmas Eve Dinner last year. It was surprisingly good! Again: family style, so not as many choices, but the meats were delicious as were the sides. Just good ol' American comfort food!

Enjoy your trip and your meals (always one of our highlights of our WDW stay!)

Thanks for the info, I have heard the filet is amazing.

I will admit the Garden Grill is the one we are both looking forward to, we are also going to do the Behind the Seeds tour on the same day.
