Question for everyone :
Have you ever experienced digestive problems at WDW? By that I don't mean motion sickness, but rather a stomach flu or similar illness.

Prior to 2018, it was rare for any of us to get sick while visiting WDW. Since 2018 though, on most of our WDW trips at least one of us has wound up getting sick at WDW. I am curious if it is just us, or if others have had the same problem?

We have not had this problem when staying at Universal or offsite, over many stays at Universal. Only rarely has anyone ever been sick when we vacationed anywhere else or stayed offsite.

Oh I got norovirus one trip way back in 2013 there, so nothing new.

Back in 2015 two of us got pretty sick after eating noodles at Capt. Cook's. Other than that never had any major issues over ~25 years of trips.

As a very regular visitor (AP, about 6 visits per month), I've had food poisoning twice.

Are you in indoor playground type spaces, like the Dumbo waiting area or end of the Figment ride? I’ve found indoor playgrounds to be the worst for stomach viruses when traveling.

I've eaten a lot of food at Disney and have only gotten sick from the food once. A Ronto wrap took me down big time in November '19

I vomited privately (somehow?!) into a cup at Connections Eatery in December. Congratulations of you had me on your bingo card talking about vomit three times in two days here.

But yeah, we've gotten all sorts of stuff from trips. But really, stomach pebbled problems I get are more from reading heavy and/or rich foods day after day. Like, even salads often have fried chicken on them.

My daughter had an upset tummy about 25 years ago after eating at the Rainforest Cafe.

I have severe IBS, so figuring out specifically what causes what is almost impossible.

I am "sick" pretty much every day until noon. :grumpy:

No, not really. I'm also not sure it is a stomach virus. That's part of why I posted the question.

In some cases, it may be that we just aren't used to eating certain foods, or maybe more the combo of greasy/spicy foods followed by theme park rides.

Like twice we ate the Boardwalk Deli. First time we ate there was great, but the second round of sandwiches (months later) was very greasy. Dripping level of greasy. Plus cheese and sauce! It was a LOT of grease.

We normally eat way more produce than we can get with our meals at WDW. Often if we do order a (side) veggie, it is terrible. I was recently excited to see green beans at Boma, but then I bit into them and they were not good. Not at all fresh. Another night the veggies that came with my dinner were minimal and inedible. I got two small carrots, and they were extremely tough to chew. I don't even know what one does to make a carrot that texture!

Yak and Yeti was great: our meals came with real servings of fresh veggies, plus a side order of bok choy that was excellent.

Maybe we've just had a round of bad luck at WDW.

My trip in November I had a doozie of an upset stomach. I managed to get back to my room before going full on Mr Creosote. I have never experienced anything like it and during the miserable experience mousekeeping knocked on my door at 6pm, yes really, to do my room which was strange in itself. I told them I was unwell and how I stopped myself from unwillingly demonstrating it I don't know.
I felt better the next day, but, I had hardly any appetite for over a week. Not fun during the Food and Wine festival, looking at the stands thinking 'I just don't fancy that'. I don't know if I ate something dodgy or caught it on the plane. I even wondered did I get it from the clogged up sink pipe that I noticed the next day and pulled a pile of congealed goodness what out of.

Nope. Weve gone on many trips, eaten at almost every TS restaurant, QS site, ordered from F&G kiosks, purchased from snack kiosks and nothing unusual occurred other than adding a few pounds to the waistline and a thinning of the wallet.
