Did you ride on the first day or before?

Has anyone here ridden a ride on the first day it was open? Or maybe you test rode? If so post here...It's a pretty cool memory in my opinion.

My family and I rode the Aladin Magic Carpet Ride the day it opened...and only by chance...we were heading for a diner show and saw it was open...so we just jumped in line. Don't you just love when that happens? It's was a great ride...though I wasn't fond of when the carpet rocks back and forth...LOL!

My family and I rode Mission Space 3 times during a soft opening. we waited 5 minutes in line each time. most people didn't know it was open because the front didn't look like it does today.

We rode Mission Space and the lastest version of Imagination before they opened--both were pretty cool, but I think the best was Rockin Roller Coaster. My husband and daughter rode it on our first trip, and the day after they rode, there was a huge article about how the day before had been opening day for RnR and that Aerosmith had actually been there that day. We hadn't even known they rode on opening day until we saw the article. But, they can still say they rode it on opening day. :D

I rode Mission Space in September 2003 so I guess it was a pre-opening but this time everything was working and open everyday.

I hope to ride SGE this way in September too. :)

I rode M:S in Nov for the first time but of course it had been open for a while. I've never ridden anything on opening day, but I did go to AK the week after it opened and loved it. I still love going there and seeing all the new things. I'm HOPING, I have my fingers crossed, that maybe, just maybe, they will be doing soft openings for SGE this weekend when I'm there. Maybe not even a soft opening, but have a CM come up to me and ask if I want to be the first ever to see it! Then there will be me and my party in it and no one else until soft openings do start! Ahh....but WDW is the place where dreams come true!

Not a ride.... but as a CM, I got to see Muppet Vision 3-D during trial runs. Not everything was synchronized perfectly, but it was still cool.

I went to Animal Kingdom before it opened on one of the cast preview days and and it was also the same day they were filming the Sabrina The Teenage Witch episode. It was two really cool experiences in one. I still have the guide map that says "Cast Preview Days" on it.

I rode The Living Seas before it opened. I was a kid, and it was my first time out late in the park with my mom. I think it was about a 20 min wait, the longest I have ever waited for it.

If you count Mission Space, I rode that during its month+ long soft opening (not the first day).

*sigh* I DID see Shrek 4-D on its first day of operation, however. . .

I went into Wonders of Life in the days up to it's official opening and was quized about my thoughts on Body Wars.

Does attending the Annual Passholders preview of Philarmagic Count?

How about being at Hall of Presidents on the first day they reopened after transplanting Dubya's head onto Clinton's old body?

*** shudders at the thought *** (Now there is a combination that probably doesn't make anybody happy.

How about a fair warning next time!

I was able to ride Rock-n-Roller Coaster before its official opening. That was a first for me. That ride changed my whole perception of what you can expect from a Disney trip! (Toto, we're not on Splash Mountain anymore!)

I was there that day as well....I think I waited about 80 minutes to see it.

Shrek 4D is the only attraction I've seen on its first day of operation. I rode Revenge of the Mummy during technical rehearsals (nine times in one day though), and Mission: SPACE during the soft openings. That's about it. :)

Oh, and there's also the AP Previews for some attractions.....

We rode everything in Animal Kingdom prior to the actual park opening date. It was a special for resort guests that they announced on the busses one night. Dinosaur had not been fully completed and there were wooden mockups of dinos to mark the spots where audioanimatronics were going in. Stopped often but was well worth the ride. Also got to see a Jungle Book show that was replaced by the next year we went. Not sure if it even made opening day.

I never saw this, but I read that it ran for several months prior to "Tarzan Rocks"

Was able to ride RnRC during its first soft opening weekend. Was definately a bonus on an already fun vacation. We were just walking by and they removed part of the barriers that were up going into the courtyard. We went over to see what was up and they said come on in and take a ride...it was such a cool feeling.

I know I was one of the first 50 people in the GP on Test Track. We all got cool pins :) Needless to say, the ride broke down while we were in line, but I was a soldier and stuck with it. It was worth every second spent in line.

I think I was also one of the first on Star Tours. I was pretty young at the time, but the ride was in soft opening period, and it was the first attraction of the day.

I'm sure that in all of my years spent at the World, I've been one of the lucky few to experience something for the first time. The above two were the most significant
