Did you enjoy Walt Disney World better as a kid or an adult?

Well, the first time I went I was 14.

and that was back in the early 80's, when EPCOT was amazing and newish, and the Magic Kingdom was everything i had always dreamed it could be.

I admit there is so much I liked better about that early teen experience...where I was somewhere between kid and adult.

But then again, back then...there wasn't a Splash Mountain. So I guess it's even.

Adult, because I appreciate/understand it on so many more levels now.
I get more enjoyment out of not just riding a ride, but riding it and understanding how it works, both on a techincal and psychological level.

A kid. I really don't understand why everyone is saying as an adult. Sure, you can appreciate all the little details better, but you think it's REAL when you're a kid.

I never thught it was real. I realized animation were drawings when I was 4 watching the Smurfs and discoverd Santa Clause was a lie at 7 after reading about St. Nicholas.

I love WDW way more as an adult.

Adult for sure. (20 is adult enough, right? :lookaroun)

With each successive visit I notice things I had never seen before, and I can realize the history and the amount of artistry and thought it takes to bring [most of] these places to life.

Also, as a child, I was too afraid to ride many of the attractions that I happily ride today (Splash, Big Thunder, Star Tours, Haunted Mansion, etc.). So my ability to enjoy these now is definitely a plus to my enjoyment of the park overall.

It seems like as I get older, my definition of "Disney magic" has changed, but my appreciation of the magic itself has only amplified. :)

I think I'd have to say as an adult. I'm sure I was super fired up when I was a kid to head to Disney but as an adult, I can appreciate everything in the parks so much more.

The details, the atmosphere, the overall feeling of Disney is so much more enjoyable now that I'm older. I don't recall being so excited to find a hidden mickey or look at the details of the queue's when I was younger. Though I do think I still enjoy seeing some of the characters as much now as I did back when I was a kid!

It was great as a kid but you move on to the next thing once it's over. Love it as a adult. Takes me away from the daily grind and I get to share it with my kids.

I started going in 72 and I was 3. I can't compare adult/child enjoyment very well. I will NEVER get as excited as I was when I was a kid. It's something most of lose as an adult. However, as many have pointed out, there are a lot of subtleties that I enjoy as an adult. So.....I think it's too different to compare.

I definitely enjoyed it more as a kid. It truly was a magical place and I'll never be able to relive those emotions again. I really wish I could go back and time and visit it through my more innocent eyes of childhood. I still greatly appreciate everything about it and love it, but I'll never have that amazing awe feeling that I used to have back in the early 80's.

i definitlely think as an adult... but i think thats because it brings back all of that magic and happiness you felt as a child, and all my memories of going there when i was younger come back to me... so being able to "revisit" that year after year is something really special... and brings out an adult side of me that is for disney only :animwink:
