Did the rumor about new autograph books come true?

There was a guy here last year who was saying he knew a bunch of stuff that was going to happen and one of the things he said was that there was going to be new autograph books in 2008 that basically had pages already predesigned for certain characters so you could seek out and get the autograph for that characters page etc.

Did that rumor ever come true?

+1 Yeah, just an overzealous fan who was 'reporting' a bunch of random, unreptutable things. Nonetheless, I do think the autograph books need a little love.
Well, they did try the "Disney Dream Book," which seemed to be a resounding failure. Agreed, though--the current offerings of Autograph books seem to be missing "something."

I hear ya. I've found that the autograph books (and some of the photo albums) are, well, not of the best quality...especially for the markup . I'd love to see some more variety and better quality for the price.

No, nothing has been said about it. I do wish some of the new characters that were listed would come out for meet n greets.

Who actually makes those decisions?

You mean for what characters come out? I believe there is a group of Park Directors/Committee that choose and decide what characters should be brought out...but don't quote me on that. I think a lot of has to do with guest demand and what guests ask for....ie requests at C.H.I.P. Hotline

I was at the Pirate & Princess Party last night and while waiting to get pictures with the Princesses there were some little girls that had autograph books ( I think they were pink with the princesses on them) that had watermarked pages with a picture of the princess and the opposite page had a clear plastic sleeve attached, I am assuming to put a picture in. I wasn't that close so I don't know if there was anything else on the page or if all the princesses were represented in the book, I just remember both Ariel and Aurora pointing out their picture on the page they signed.

Oh please. If they did have an autograph book like that, I hope EVERYONE with that particular design would have their books open before they got to the front of the line. Otherwise, the lines would end up being HUGE while people wait for either the guest or the character to find "their" specific page. Besides, how often would they update this book to reflect the "possible" characters, and how many people would end up angry that they couldn't find a certain now advertised character?

It can change from day to day who actually makes appearances in the park...even sometimes hour by hour. The more popular characters will take precident (sp?) over the less popular characters. Although there is a set schedule everyday, characters can be pulled from location to location depending on the need. That was how it worked when I was working there in 2003...not sure if changed at all.

The autograph book would be a nightmare for character attendents because it's hard enough to keep the line moving and guests happy with regular autograph books. Adding specific pages would just cause chaos. Just my opinion though...

The past few days have been a little wacky at the MK. One day a girl was having a blast hanging out with Wendy when her friend Cinderella called and said she was lonely. So the girl sadly left Wendy and went to hang out with Cinderella. Yesterday, Jasmine had so many royal duties that Aladdin was left on his own for the whole day. A few days ago, Princess Aurora was so busy that Snow White had to leave Town Square and take her place in Toon Town for 1/2 of the day. Princess Aurora could only be there for half of the time.

On the opposite end of the spectrum...Tigger was still so energetic after his stint in Pooh's playground that he went to visit his friends in Toon Town in the Pal's Room. Earlier in the day, apparent Rabbit was in a visiting mood and hung out in the Pal's Room as well.

You just never know what you are going to run into.

Um - additional blank pages in the back for additional or unusual sightings?

I think that the characters and their "friends" could quickly learn the location of their (or all) specific pages and flip to them instantly. Alternately, tabs could be added to the pages to facilitate this process. I see this as a doable upgrade.

OK do me a favor. Go into your kitchen right now, put on some hot mitts and a pair of dark tinted sunglasses, and grab a book. Now open it to page 38.

Not that easy, is it? Now try doing that (turning a book's pages to a specific page) 46 times in a row. See how long it takes. Now, until youve been in that position, I'd say you don't really get to make that call.

Tabs could be nice, but that doesn't mean they would be all that easy to find, feel, or see.

And again, what if someone couldn't find.... Pinocchio to fill his page and was really REALLY mad about it? What then? If you tell people who's out, then you have an obligation to put them out there every single day, and when it somehow becomes impossible and you can't, people can get VERY irate.

hahahahahahaha well thanks for clearing that one up, you put it better than I even would have!!! :sohappy:

Also, if tabs were added, that would only add to the already ridiculous price of autograph books
