Did Disney layoff cleaning staff?

These trash cans serve another purpose. It is a place to put our food and drink while enjoying the cuisine at World Showcase Food and Wine.

That's true! I'll be there in a few weeks, I'm really hoping the pics I've seen are just a fluke and not something I'll be seeing during my trip

You can excuse it all you want, but I'm not buying into that.
I'm not excusing anything. A clean park is obviously the preference and the expectation that Disney sets forth. I have and do make polite complaints or suggestions to guest services, as I stated. If it's a trend, then Disney needs to fix it, as I stated. But, yeah, seeing trash on an occasion or two isn't going to make my day unmagical.

No one in this thread is excusing anything. We are all in agreement that trash and cleanliness needs to be taken care of in a timely manner. Some in this thread, however, are spouting off baseless nonsense and I frankly won't stand for it; especially when I was in the park the very day as the OP and didn't witness any of the stuff they are crying about.

You are falsely accusing the OP in his visual feedback of park cleanliness? Don't buy it for a second if you say you were in the same park. FYI - it is a big park.

So the OP's anecdotal evidence is wrong because your's is right?

So Disney needs to fix it if it becomes a "trend" because seeing it on occasion isn't going to make your day unmagical?
If that doesn't sound like an excuse well then I don't know what does

It doesn't exist if you don't see it with your own two eyes? That's an interesting way to go through life.
Yes, it's VERY interesting...you should try it some time...some can call it not believing everything you read...it's the same few photos every time you look it up. Has it ever happened? POSSIBLY. Does it happen often? NO. Although you would actually have to go there to see it first hand, and not rely on fifth persons stories and a bus driver.

LOL You're assuming I've never seen it.

Trashy parks have been an ongoing discussion the last few years, but has gotten considerably worse recently, to the point multiple discussion boards and other social media are discussing it.

And I agree, but not to the same extent as some on here espouse to...it's funny, many on here complain, but yet there's never any current, accurate photos...just the same stock, pinterest photos...I would LOVE to see a thread on here "I was just at MK today...this is what I saw"...with timestamped photos, but alas...it just always seems that the ones who complain haven't been there in YEARS...

I heard Disney will give you a $25 gift card if you agree to carry around your trash with you and dispose of it at your home at the end of the day.
A number of years ago prior to TDL afternoon parade, cast members pushed trash cans through the parade route. The Asian / international guests would deposit their trash in the cans. It is night and day when comparing the TDL park and the domestic parks in regards to park cleanliness. The Japanese have taken cleanliness to the next level.

Some act in a way when using a bathroom on vacation that they wouldn't dare do at home like cleaning up after themselves . Depositing trash in a trash can is not top of mind of some.
Proper hygiene like hand washing is not top of mind for some. I was there during opening weekend for Epcot and DHS. It was shocking how man people did not wash up after using the restroom, even during a pandemic.

A little trash may not be much of a concern for you, but seeing trash cans overflowing and trash scattered all over the ground near it does concern me. You can excuse it all you want, but I'm not buying into that. Seeing garbage tossed on the ground and those cans jammed and spilling out shows me is that Disney doesn't give a **** about it, and that is what concerning to me. They open the park, they increase capacity when they aren't equipped with the staff to take care of it. And why should they care, they have plenty of guests making excuses as to why it's OK. Next thing you know WDW will be looking like the grounds at a traveling carnival. No thanks.
I think most businesses opened without proper staff. I have seen this in numerous businesses. (Including my former one). When you have not brought in any cash for a long time, the number one priority is sales.

If Walt could see the overflowing trash cans in today's parks he'd say "DID I DIE? IS THIS HEAVEN? IS THIS HELL? WHY ARE YOU SHOWING ME A TRASH CAN?"

Don’t know about now but I noticed since 2013 that Epcot had much higher standards at keeping this park clean than the Magic Kingdom did. Whether it’s management, park size, layout, crowd numbers I do not know but I noticed a big difference.

Yup, one time I had to hit the restroom cause of a bad churro at DCA and I heard both diarrhea and vomiting from other unfortunate souls.
But to be honest, Disney throwing sweets in our faces at every turn.. they're not faultless.
I believe in being responsible for my actions. Disney is faultless. You don't need to eat something just because it is available and tempting. Unless of course some cast member was instructed to force feed you and you couldn't escape then your right Disney is the fault.
