I did one time. I don't mean a day trip to a park. I mean a week and fly down by yourself and spend that going to the parks.

If you have never done and you have the chance to, do it. I did it before I got married and had kids and it was kind of cool. I just poked around and ate when I was truly hungry and didnt worry about anything. I have a blast with the whole family too, but it was cool by myself. I got in single rider lines and ate quick meals (5 minutes rather than an hour).

Several times. December I play family trip tour guide then I take a May trip by myself and enjoy F&G. In May I don't stress the rides and focus on the shows, the landscaping and the food. Decembers are fun, but it's almost like work, leading everyone around.

My first one was last December. I went in May for my 2nd solo trip and my forthcoming trip in March will be my third. I enjoy going with people, but I actually prefer solo trips. You have ultimate freedom and the trip seems to be more relaxed. I absolutely love it. Everyone should give it a chance.

One thing, I do not fly. It would take me just as long to fly as it would to drive. I just hit the I-95 and 5 hours later I am at my resort.

The last two trips this year were alone. It was fun, but I am taking an extra trip this January just so I can do it again with someone.

I noticed that I spent more time wandering and less time on attractions. I rarely went to TS restaurants, even though September was free dining. There's just some things that are more enjoyable with a significant other. After this year, I really don't see myself doing it alone again.

I did a solo trip this past March. I was there for five days and I was apprehensive at first but I enjoyed it. I think I rode the HM something like four times in a row. I would highly recommend it.

I just got back a month ago from my first solo trip, and I can't recommend it highly enough!!!

I am very outgoing, and I had tons of fun meeting new people. I didn't avoid anything because I was alone (I ate at TS and even went to MNSSHP).

When we go it is usually a group of at least 4, so it was a lot of fun to wander and do whatever I wanted to do.

My Mommy-moon is here to stay, because it was such an awesome and relaxing trip!!!

I used to come down every September by myself for a week and had a blast! I still head to the parks alone as well sometimes.

If you do a thread search on the subject you will find countless threads.

I did this earlier this year...help drive my parents to Florida then spent two days at the four parks...the ultimate in commando all the rides I wanted to do from all four parks in two days....including going to Downtown disney for some shopping :)

even got on EE 3 times before noon... I love that ride..going solo is very freeing....no compromise and you go at whatever speed you want...

Though the next trip is 4 years from now with my DW and DD who will be 4 years old...

When I did my solo trip I did the free dining and did do TS and it was kinda of strange. When there is no one at your table service reservation I found that I ate alot faster since I had no one to talk to. I noticed that it threw off the wait staff, due to them serving on their schedule.

When I go in December 2009 I will still do the dining plan, but will only use do my TS credits at the serve-your-self, all-you-can-eats. I still want to go to Ohanna's(that will just be the strange one). Other than that going solo you do spend more time wandering around and seeing stuff you normally would just blow by if you were with a group or family. I cant wait for my solo trip and yes I will be doing MVMCP solo also.

Every so often work sends me to Tampa/Orlando, and when it does, I tack 3 or 4 vacation days onto the end of the trip and go solo to the parks.

It's an entirely different experence. And since I am single, when I go with my kids, I can't do things such as the Epcot tour, because they are not old enough. So I do that stuff when I am down there alone.

August 1999 for 10 days. I decided to go as a graduation gift to myself. This was to be my first trip to WDW ever. However, my wife (girlfriend at the time) didn't have enough vacation time, and none of my friends were that interested. So I went anyway.

The only time I really felt subconscious being alone was at DTD Saturday night when all the other 20-30 somethings were with their friends. Everything else was no problem. Frankly, unless you're a hardcore extrovert who absolutely needs the company, being alone has the huge advantage that you have the freedom to do whatever the heck you want as you have no one else's needs, interests, or energy level to consider. You are the dictator of your itinerary.

Boy am I glad I read this, I want to go to Disney world next May for the first time in my life on my birthday and I am glad other people have do that and liked it. What would be the best resorts for a single person? I looked at the Value resorts on the internet but they just seem to "Scream" to me, although it would be less than 1000. I am tempted to stay at the Contemporary resort, It will run about $1600 dollars but I also found a "moderate" was only 200 less, so is there much difference? I will not have a car so I will will have to rely on my feet and the buses/monorail. any thoughts? And what is "magic my way"?

I also tacked a few extra days onto a work trip to Orlando, did all four parks in two days and spent the third day at the pool.

Oh yes. I did a solo trip in Jan 2006 (stayed at AS Sports), and also did my CPs (though I don't know if that counts).

Personally, I think staying at any resort but a value on a solo trip is crazy. I do not need the extra space because it is just me. I do not eat TS meals, so the CS is all I need. Plus, the money. I mean you are typically talking hundreds of dollars difference in price.

That said, if you have the money for a deluxe like CR...do it. A solo trip is about you. Do whatever makes you happy.

Hello,

I have to agree with everyone here. I really love going to WDW, and I enjoy going fairly often now. I ask friends every time I think about going, but they're either not into it, busy, broke, etc. If I was waiting for friends to go, I would never get there. So, going myself has been a total blast. You "will" meet really nice people along the way. In my case, I found that people were very talkative in line, waiting for busses, etc.

But, I have to confess, part of my solo trip is a workout of my mobility skills. I'm blind, and WDW presents a very interesting challenge. I feel that going myself offers independence and free reign I simply can't experience in real life. I am limited by public transportation, schedules, and of course finding the location I wish to enjoy. Honestly, I can get lost at WDW, and not be really ed off about it, because I simply find something interesting that I probably would have done later anyway!

Maybe this accounts for the fact that total strangers will simply stop me to ask if I need help, but when I explain I'm fine, they confess they just wanted to ask me how I do it. There is no good way to explain it. I use sound queues, tactile indications from the ground, physical landmarks like benches, potted plants, echoing hallways, etc. Of course, I also use crowds to simply follow along. The next time you see a blind dude following you off the bus, you may be my unknowing guide to the park entrance if you keep on talking!
