Just amazing!!!!! Hey Disney....you seeing this? Uni has doubled down and your Potter Swatter was a kiddie coaster?.........HA! or is it the Magic shackle we can wear on our wrist? This is how you execute an IP. You don't have to be a Potter fan to think this stuff is amazing. Hey Judge @flynnibus was there a number floating around what Potter 2.0 cost?

And what's sad is, so many "Diehard Disney Fans" were upset on twitter.
Some were saying that Diagon alley wasn't that great because the dragon doesn't move like Disney's does. That because Gringotts has no animatronics that it can't possibly compare to 7DMT.
The same people that were excited during the 7DMT media previews were bashing DA media previews, calling them a waste of time and not worth taking over their Twitter feeds.

IDC how big of a Disney fan you are... If you can't appreciate how well done & beautiful Diagon Alley is, then you have blinders on!

I cannot get those Instagram videos to run for some rason... or I'm just impatient...

Update: just impatient! Pretty neat.

Universal really messed up big time. These attractions are so cheaply done and no thought was put into them. I didn't see one touch screen iPad game in any queue. How are people going to wait in line without any games?

With risk of getting called a "pixie duster", or even getting violent threats (as i have gotten on twitter...yay adults!), I do have a few negative viewpoints on this expansion.

BEFORE I EXPRESS THEM, I will start by saying that thematically, this area is GORGEOUS. They did a fantastic job and raised the bar for all other parks WORLD WIDE. Props to them for that.

..with that in mind...I wish I could have seen what they could do if they didn't rely on screens. On Hogwarts Express..TOTALLY acceptable, works well...I can understand WHY its used. But from what I've heard from a few different people, Gringotts is 95% screens? This goes for ANY theme park, not just Universal...but the moment you rely on screens, you start to lose my interest...add 3D glasses? You lose me completely. This is my opinion, and I'm sure many many many others will call me stupid for having it, but its how I feel. (REMEMBER, I said this isn't just limited to UNIVERSAL, I'm not a fan of their use at disney either). They have showcased how great they can build things...and I think that having all 3 new potter attractions that rely heavily on this technology is a bit overkill. I'd have loved to see a gringotts with physical effects rather than ones shown on a screen. Maybe I'm too old school for these sorts of things, but I go to the movies to watch things like that...I go to a theme park for that physical depth. Not sure if that's making any sense. Add to that the fact that I know a few people who can't stomach 3D :( It makes them instantly nauseous and its a shame because they are HUGE Harry Potter fans, but feel a tad alienated because they can't enjoy the experience without wanting to throw up. I obviously realize this is a MINORITY situation, and I wouldn't expect that to be a factor in anybody else enjoying it, Just a note as to why my opinion is what it is. Obviously I can't say anything for sure, as no videos of the attraction were allowed and thus we don't know exactly whats involved, but the many things I HAVE heard, lead me to the above concerns.

All that aside, I really do look forward to seeing this in person. I give complete kudos to them for doing what they did, and I will reserve all final judgments until I experience it in person.

Wow - that herminie voice is pretty aweful sounding in the HE videos. Wish the train had the jerky start stop that real trains did. I like the reveal of the train at kings cross but it didn't seem to have the dynamic life of a real steam engine.

That queue is quite crazy how huge it is. That long staircase is quite unusual too!

Gringotts has got the ride system as it's huge element that makes it unique. As long as the screens create a believable environment I don't care

I have to say, I often hate 3D screens myself but I have found that at Universal on Spiderman, Forbidden Journey, & Transformers, that the screens are such good quality that I have no issue with them. They appear so life like that the 3d effect isn't too bad.
FJ does have physical interactions... as someone who is terrified of spiders... I had a mild panic attack on FJ... the employee who pulled up our picture was in tears that's how funny I looked.:D
I think that as long as I feel truly immersed and that it is well executed that screens are okay with me.
Soarin is 100% screens LOL... Okay not the same..;)
I also think that screens extend the life of an attraction... just a bit... animatronics do eventually get dated..
while imagine being able to add new scenes to current rides. I can appreciate your desire for the physical... at least the rock work inside Gringotts is pretty impressive.

I think you're safe here, in the Universal forum section... most pixie dusters don't even come here LOL
