At the risk of seeming petty (but hey we do it to women ALL the time):

1) The CM is the best dressed Disney rep in the bunch.
2) Two buttons unbuttoned on a shirt never classifies as business anything.
3) Staggs is wearing just a generic, floppy collared polo. He could at least tuck it in to a decent pair of slacks.
4) Bob's sweater is too small to fit over his t-shirt (really?), and his jeans (really?) are too big in the waist. At the very least, the jeans are a bad cut.

I bring this up because it lacks professionalism IMO. It lacks a seriousness about their product. If Disney Parks are about class and high standards, this is not reflected in the attitude (as conveyed by the dress) of the executives.

I am not saying they HAVE to wear Armani to the parks, but they (or their handlers) could do better.
Iger is the worst! Its a white undershirt underneath his sweater that he wore when he was in high school!! not even a shirt with a collar?? and the black bulged jeans are awful. And who is the woman sitting there wearing that blue jogging tank top with black yoga pants??? She's runner up of the worst.

Hell, I'm more stylish in the park sometimes…

I think the continuing popularity is a bit of a mix of what both of us said. The park itself is short on rides. E-ticket or B-ticket, it needs more rides. Preferably we'll get some of each.

One of the main reasons DHS is my least favorite park (despite housing some of my favorite rides), is because of the lack of relaxing experiences. Aside from The Great Movie Ride, what is there besides shows that could be considered relaxing? You're right, DHS needs it's version of a Pirates, HM, SSE, or even something as simple as the peoplemover. It just needs more.
a people's mover themed as a futuristic skywalk in naboo :D

This is what I'm talking about. No clue if Jim Hill is right or not, but I hope he is.

I think the smart way to expand is to add several smaller rides (AKA the play land) as well as a pair of dark rides that will appeal to everyone.

My personal preference would be to see 3 or 4 Pixar films highlighted. Add another Toy Story ride (something small) and possibly relocate Pizza Planet done right. Create a Monsters area with a dark ride, small ride and a monstropolis area including shops, meet and greet areas and maybe a quick service restaurant. Plus Carsland light with the indoor cars dark ride, Mater and a few shops/restaurants. Finally either retheme HISTK to Bugs Life or build a new Bugs kid area. 4 to 6 new rides doubles the ride capacity.

Once that end of the park is rounded out they put the mega E-ticket in the new SW Land along with a D or C ticket.
Id honestly use the opportunity to differentiate the park a bit and add different things. Like dark ride based on WALL-E, The Incredibles, Rattatouie, Big Hero 6.

Hmmm, great point! I never really thought of this but you are so correct! There really are not a lot of relaxing rides. Even MK has a draw where you can sit down on a park bench and just people watch for a bit. The layout of HS is just so spread out and it has tiny walkways and narrow spaces. Not a lot of wide open spaces to enjoy. I really hope they make the park easier to navigate when they bring in new rides.

My one thought: how do you visually transition between some of these proposed areas? Cars transition to Star Wars? Monster's Inc to Toy Story? I'm curious what they come up with....

As far as I'm concerned, they could all be dressed like street urchins, so long as they bring real, positive change to DHS.

I thought they removed a lot of the benches.

I recently stumbled across this map of DHS in a permit that was filed with the South Florida Water Management District back in 1989. It shows the area around the park where future expansion was planned. All of these areas have already been used expect C. C is pretty small and has an odd shape so I am not sure what they could do with it.

The C: area is still untouched to this day but some of these are still unused as "attraction" space but are different now from 89 when this map was drawn up. H: is labeled Future Attractions and Canal, but it's currently used as either employee parking or Lights Motors Action rehearsal space, and B: still has some pretty large spaces North of what's now Rockin' Roller Coaster and the Animation Courtyard that's also either employee parking or office space

But that C: area is kind of in a wierd spot and isn't it also where people are saying there might be a second entrance to the park? it seems like it would be a good location for an entrance from right off of Osceola Parkway

-nice find

The problem with Disney is, Universal just started improving, in the mean time disney didn't feel it was necessary to expand/redo/add attractions/lands. Because the competition was almost non-existent. Besides that Disney should've realized when they first got word about Harry Potter world, they should've started to build IMMEDIATELY.
But for some reason chose not to. Which in the long run, could hurt them, my best advice to Disney right know is to get building!

I am thinking they look at the giant merchandise machine down the street cranking out Wizarding stuff and printing money. Pixar's most marketable franchises are Cars and Toy Story with probably Monsters in the mix too. I would assume they would go with rides/areas based on these 3 franchises (Toy Story is already there). I do think there is room for some additional attractions based on less popular films if they choose to add even more. I would love to see an Incredibles dark ride and since there are rumors of a new movie they may go that route.

Wall-e just isn't that popular of a franchise and Big Hero 6 is too new and isn't Pixar. Rat ride could be cloned at WDW, but there's still a chance it ends up in EPCOT. If not it would probably work too.

wall-e would be cute, while not a major movie franchise, would still be cool for a cute 2nd/3rd tier ride

Well given comments from @Lee (in line with his expectations) and @WDW1974 (basically made up of things we already know/he more or less confirmed some of them)...

1. TSMM third track.
2. Components of Toy Story Playland
3. Carsland Lite

And since I think that would be a let down for Lee...

4. Monsters Inc. Door Coaster OR Ratatouille (not both, more likely the former).

That seems like a project that would line up with my personal expectations (but not blow them away).

Star Wars being a different project entirely, not so much a "Phase" Two but "Project" Two that in part overlaps with the Pixar buildout.

Basically, just refer to WDSP - a coaster, a dark ride, a handful of B/C's (and TSMM already having pre-existed).

I don't think you will even see a construction wall for Star Wars until all this other stuff is done. Put a wall up around half the park. I doubt it. Unfortunately, I think we are 3 years away from seeing any ground broken for Star Wars. Star Wars may be done by the time the 3rd movie comes out.

Can't happen -- Mickey's right ear is now Sunset Blvd -- before they put the street in, it was the old BatB theatre, I think (it may have been partially painted on the roof of the building that is soon to be a starbucks).

I remember there was a view from top, with the hat in mickey's nose as a joke.
I don't believe that would've been possible -- the ear was gone long before the BAH went up.

I think your confused. I know some flat rides are necessary but there's a huge difference between the flat rides at Cars Land and the junk that was tossed in Animal Kingdom and HKDL.

Walt Disney World needs rides like Luigi Flying Tires and Aquatopia. They don't need a toy story spinner.
Apparently, no one needs rides like LFT -- according to MiceChat, they're closing it 1/11/15
