Dhs rehab like dca?

With all the rehabs and expansions going on within Disney Parks, I am drawn back to one thing that would make DHS shine once again...a total rehab/expansion like DCA! In my opinion, I think they entire area needs to be torn down and start with a new, fresh area in the likes of the massive DCA rehab/expansion!
I would love to see the entire area rethemed to that similar to DCA and Hollywood in the 1920's when Walt first step onto the scene! I don't think it would be overkill to reproduce it here in The World, where it should have been in the beginning! I would love to see DHS get back to a 'working' studio park, but I think those days are long gone, never to return. So why not make it the next best thing...I personally would love to walk into an era when Walt walked and see things that he saw!
DHS gets a bad wrap and I am one that usually coments about the demise of the working studio theme.

What's your thoughts?

Crush Dude!

This has pretty much been talked about to the point that all thats left to do is wait for it to happen! Eventually DHS will get some love just dont expect it soon

For me, personally, they really would have to level the park and start anew.

I don't like the way it is laid out. Not crazy about the theming. Dont like most of what is there.

But it seems popular enough. I wouldn't expect them to change it all around for me, lol. And there are six other Orlando parks I do like a lot. :)

I don't know much about the goings-on in California and couldn't really compare. I just don't like DS.

Unless Burbank chips in, TDO won't pay for a full on makeover. Not whilst the turnstiles still turn.

Until then, the plans for the park will continue piecemeal.

DHS is a mess, in my opinion. Everything to the left of the Sorcerer Hat (and the hat itself) is just a mess. A bunch of different themed areas crammed into one side of the park is not pretty.

There's no strategic theming at DHS, except for Sunset Boulevard. At one corner you see Indiana Jones, the next you see Star Wars, then after that you walk down a street to see a giant Muppets Balloon and a giant sign for a car stunt show. It's just confusing.

And DCA didn't need this expansion? People were and still are going to DHS. No one was spending more than an hour at DCA here in California. Not even the locals. DCA really needed this makeover.

If DHS should get a makeover, it shouldn't be the exact same one DCA is getting. It needs to be original. Buena Vista Street and Cars Land are the heart and soul of the new DCA. It shouldn't be replicated and I hope it never will be.

Not saying that DCA didn't need the expansion, I wished the cool areas/shows that they have now would have been put in WDW first...I guess I am being selfish...Sorry! BUT I LOVE WDW!:animwink:

DHS maybe doesn't need a complete overhaul, but it certainly needs a reworking. Old shows and "filler" attractions need to be taken out and replaced with quality shows and attractions. This is what DHS is lacking.

Also, it needs to find it identity. It obviously didn't turn out to be what it was built to be; so Disney needs to get to work to figure out how to properly organize and market the park itself.

But overall, there just needs to be....more...

God bless the "Ignore" button.
IF we had the ability, taking out LMA, the playset adventure, the Backlot Tour... well, it'd be a good spot for a couple expansions, like the Marvel one that I know won't happen but want it to anyways.

I understand the love you have for WDW. Imagine how all the " Disneylanders" felt when, one by one, another Disney park kept popping up in Florida, while we sat back and watched it happen. Sorry, but it's Disneyland's turn now!

I think several "in the knows" stated just in the last couple months that nothing significant was in the works for DHS, even concerning a new attraction. I think DHS will forever be the "other park"...

True Raven! I can't imagine what they felt like! I told you I was being selfish and just wanted all the new stuff for WDW! But in reality, I am not really that selfish...I just see that while the new things are working for DCA and DLR, we have alot to be proud of here at WDW...

We have FOUR parks(LOL)
The Magic Kingdom is being expanded(like DCA was)
DAK will be getting some much needed love!
Epcot is forever changing, but needs some attention over at Imagination/Wonders/Showcase needs a new country.
DHS IS a good park but its only a half day

Raven, you seem to be in the know...so why did Disney move away from the 'working studio' theme for DHS? I think that made the park that more appealing, at least for me!

I'm sure our two parks can stand up to WDW's four:D

I've actually never been to WDW so I can't answer your question. I'm sorry!:(I can try and answer Disneyland/California Adventure questions for you though!

I dont think the "identity" of the park needs to be re-thought out. I think a salute to the movies and Hollywood is fine really. The issue is attractions, not enough attractions. If you just expand on what you have started you will be good. Flesh out Pixar place, expand on the Lucas area (starwars), add to the muppet area and get rid of the hat. :lookaroun

Frankly, if I could give any WDW park a DCA-like overhaul, DHS would be only fourth on my list.

Also, TDO if you're listening: not every improvement needs a budget - me and my friends will come over and get rid of that hat for free.

tbh I don't think they moved away from it, it was more the industry didn't flock to it.

It happened to USF too, expecting a big chunk of the industry to pack up and move east because of a couple of theme parks was a big ask. Especially as Florida has some extreme weather which leads to continuity issues while filming (I believe a big part of hollywood's appeal to film makers is the consistent weather conditions).

You can't expect an industry cemented in that town to move over night, it's take decades and when it didn't happen quickly I think they gave up.
The industry isn't and hasn't been it's strongest in the last 10-15 years or so especially with digital downloads not helping.

I'm also not see what the tax break would be like by The state of FL but it'd have to be pretty high to lure them away.

I think all the above were contributing factors.

I like to refer to Animal Kingdom as the "other park"... I have a true love for DHS.
