In addition to additional capacity it also increases guest and cast comfort by increasing the area covered by shade, and improves the experience by integrating bag check and screening in the same structure. Eliminating temporary tents and giving the entire process a more “ polished” venue hopefully without folding tables, exposed conduit and electrical cables, and concrete blocks.

Yeah, this is the kind of stuff I was getting at with the more perm structure that is also more weather resistant. But the layout still seems interesting to me to see why this L shape is used and how they may route exit traffic vs inbound traffic. It still hasn't created much of a 'hard boundary' funneling traffic or limiting access I don't think. Tho I guess the moving of the bus loop, and the spacing of the tram loop may have moved the boundary further away from the accessible surface roads a bit.

If the need was just capacity - scale what you are already doing.

I think the L shape was used because the entry paths from the Trams to the gondola's and buses are all coming from different angles. They don't want people from the gondola and the trams having to go around structures to get through security. and they don't want to have to wall off any of it for the purpose of security. The size of it is quite probably because of the massively increased demand to get in the park once Star Wars is open.

Probably will be blocked off and everyone will be directed through security.

Seems like the exit right? It would flow right into the tram loading area which is on the park side of the loop. The tram drop off appears to be on the parking lot side of the loop.

I believe what you are referencing is actually sheets of plywood put down to protect the freshly poured concrete from becoming damaged in areas of heavy traffic or areas where trucks or equipment might drive.

Ah thanks. I thought it could be that, but from a distance it’s hard to tell and there are so many different textures and colours and directions of concrete that I thought it might be something to break up the expanse adjacent to the tram stop!

I may be wrong but this continues to look less and less like prep for a flower bed and more and more like new concrete work to replace the path. They are keeping the flag poles in place which means the height in the center of the circle is likely staying the same and the most recent photos show dyed and finished concrete in a 1/4 of the overall circle. There is electrical conduit that appears on the park side of the flag poles near the center of the circle so they may be adding something noteworthy there. Blog Mickey is the first site that reported this was a move of the Mickey topiary and flower bed and at the time that made sense but the forms in their current state look like path work.

Wrapped sign started to go up near the new security entrance. The new overhand is coming along quite nicely and think it will be open in time for memorial day.
