It might be something like this. It would provide stability when they have to drive vehicles over it, but it would also allow water to drain through.

Here is an example that @bioreconstruct tweeted this past week of another location on property that used the same type of ground stabilizer for emergency and utility access roads. This product is used in areas that landscaping is preferred to traditional pavement or rock. These reinforcement grids stabilize the ground to prevent loose or wet earth from being displaced under the weight of a vehicle which might cause the vehicle to become stuck. They also allow easy maintenance as grass can easily be mowed as any traditional open area would.

Maybe they can add some water effects, like positioning the brooms on the very edge and have them pouring water into the lake.

Photos from 4/11/19 as you can see they already have the security tables out. They plan on extending the security structure as soon as they can relocate the topiary and have a massive overhaul to the security checkpoint. once all done will look very nice and help the crowds to get in faster.

Those security tables have been there for sometime now (since at least last Oct, if not longer).

Does anyone happen to know what's happening next to the canal in these pictures? I noticed they removed the rows of trees, and the there seems to be some heavy machinery there (seen in person today).

Looks like they're just going to landscape a lawn on either ride of the canal. I suppose it's a way to keep the canals from being choked with vegetation, and gives them access to remove crocogators.

I’m still kind of perplexed about the new security structure and placement. Sure seems like a ton of work for what doesn’t seem like a huge gain.

Is the boundary much further out? Not really...
Does the new placement change where and how groups congregate? I don’t think so
Does it provide some significant difference in barriers to vehicles or or similar trying to crash through the area? Some? But it’s doesnt look like a man or vehicle trap in anyway I can see

What do they gain?
More perm structure... so maybe better environmental support for workers...
More capacity probably?
Better weather tolerance...?

In addition to additional capacity it also increases guest and cast comfort by increasing the area covered by shade, and improves the experience by integrating bag check and screening in the same structure. Eliminating temporary tents and giving the entire process a more “ polished” venue hopefully without folding tables, exposed conduit and electrical cables, and concrete blocks.

This is to avoid all the temporary tables they have set up under umbrellas, the metal detectors set up under temporary tents and everything else. This will now give expanded permanent capacity, coverage for the cast members and hopefully a better park arrival experience for the guests....so what’s your problem???

For the reading impaired... 'perplexed' means be confused or uncertain. I'm simply saying the choices made do not stand out as the clear and obvious solutions to many of the desires we've heard about driving Disney's approach to entrance security.. on both coasts.

The structures being built now are interesting to UNDERSTAND WHY THAT PATH was taken.

It's not an attack on what they've done... it's putting out there "I wonder why this particular path was chosen..."

FFS... someone says "I wonder why..." and you all have a fit...
