Photo update as of Thursday, June 15. The entire area behind the construction fence has been cleared of trees now, from the entrance road off Buena Vista Drive (Studio Drive North) to the canal pedestrian walkway (the construction fence in the background). You can see the parking booth entrance on the left. There is still a wide buffer of trees and vegetation along Buena Vista Drive that will obscure this area.

According to the bid documents this is the schedule for the new entrance road...

6/15/2018 - Limited access to the new DHS entrance
9/1/2018 - Full access to the new DHS entrance
12/17/2018 - Most work done on the Victory/Osceola portion of the project
11/1/2019 - Work complete on the World Dr portion of the project.

This was from a document that was put out to get contractor bids which is something I rarely come across.

Well, look at how many spots are filled in those pictures with the park half closed. Now imagine if it was fully open. Odds are they will need it.

That parking lot is practically empty. The largest lot pictured (the full one) is actually cast parking.

Too bad they didn't go ahead with the parking garages.......Just think what they could have done with the land

A lot of what is being done with that land would have had do be done no matter what was built on it. It won't be to hard to build a garage here later and use the rest of the lot for something else.

Photo update as of Saturday, September 23. I realize there's not much to look at here.... The east parking lot ditch is now paved over and striped; being used for parking today. They moved the fence line further out and are now resurfacing the older lots on the same side. ALL the parking rows (on both sides of the tramway) have been renumbered, starting from the preferred lot closest to the bus terminals (low numbers) and around the tramway in a horseshoe to the cast lot (highest row numbers) on the east. The west parking lot ditch is still in work.

I'm eager to see the new entrance and parking with the gondolas flying over and Star Wars land open and the hotel man it's gonna be so different very soon!
