Im looking forward to seeing this in person. It actually looks very Impressive to me for what it is. The visual effects and set design look very good. Should be fun! I always like the small things better than the grand attractions.

I don't understand why a lot of people are hating. This is 100 times better than Narnia and this sound stage building isn't big enough for anything other than a show like this anyway. Rather have this in there than Narnia or nothing else. I have to say that the visual effects in this are quite amazing and il go to see that alone. Ya it might be cheesy with the pirate skull asking you to say "Arrrgghh" but its meant for a younger audience, but I still think this will be a great show to kill some time in.

Sure, it's better than Narnia. Are we comfortable with the bar being set here?

Completely comfortable, bearing in mind what it is. An earlier post suggested it on par with a Circlevision 360 attraction, which I think was a wonderful analogy. My expectations when I enter a theater to see O Canada!, for example, are completely different than they are for a new 'D' or 'E' ticket. When I go see this next month, I'll walk in expecting an 'A' or 'B' ticket attraction. I will then decide whether it meets those expectations.

I'm actually really torn on this.

On the one hand, it's an improvement over what was there. And the projections are really well done. Plus, the park really needs whatever it can get. So, I think it's a plus. Just barely.

On the other hand, the show is really lame. It breaks the cardinal rule of aiming only at children. The comparison to Dora the Explorer is even more accurate than the comparison to Circlevision.

On the whole, I think it is an improvement but also a massive wasted opportunity. If it gives young kids something to do in DHS, that's a good thing. But I wish they had made it more engaging for anyone past the Disney Jr. stage.

Also, I think they have used up the last of my goodwill towards the Pirates franchise and Jack Sparrow. The first movie was fun, but everything since then has gotten progressively worse. I'd be happy of Depp retired the character at this point.

True. But if something doesn't change - at this rate - we may only see one or two more E ticket additions in our lifetimes. We are goin on a decade here of nada....
That is so true. At least other Disney Parks are still getting D and E ticket attractions. So we know they can still create them. Im just sad that poor WDW does not get them. Here is hoping that the DHS expansion is going to be happening.

In any case at least we now have other theme parks in Orlando that are willing to Create amazing E ticket rides for us to enjoy.

I'll reserve judgement for when I can actually see it, but this Looks like a fun use of the available space. Anyone know why the area behind captain jack is black?

I think that the effects are well done but I'm a bit concerned about the (presumed) target audience.
The calling out for everyone to stomp their feet etc. gives the impression that it could be aimed at young children while some of the effects might be too frightening for some of them.
Most older children (10-12) wouldn't have a problem with the effects but how many of them would want to shout out and stomp their feet on command? Most kids from 10 on up would probably think it was a pretty cool show made asinine by inserting kiddie elements while the younger kids who would enjoy the participation might be scared.
Just wondering....

For a very minor attraction, it's pretty nice to me. It's not meant to be Carsland. I'd go see it.

For what it is, I think it's great. As others have stated, the lack of true E-tickets is what is spurring on the negative reaction. I'm happy to se ANYTHING new in the Studios, and this makes me excited for what else they could do (especially with something like Star Wars).

I certainly don't want them instead of rides, but I wish Disney would continually do more of this type of plussing elsewhere to keep things fresh (Sounds Dangerous, Animation Building, Captain EO Theater, Imagination, Energy, etc.).

My only gripes would be:

• It seems out of place in that location. Something geared more towards little kids would have fit better. Pixar? Phineas and Ferb? It seems a bit scary for little ones in an area of DHS that's geared towards a younger audience.

• I wish there was still a place in DHS for exhibits to promote current Disney movies (like what the space was used for before, only better). I can only imagine how cool Tron, The Muppets, John Carter, etc. exhibits could have been.

Haven't actually been there, but from the video I don't see much that would scare younger children.
Because the effects are confined to projection, mostly on screens high above you, there's nothing that pops out, drops down, or blows up at you.
In that respect it's a few notches below, say, The Great Movie Ride in terms of intensity.

You must not have kids. There is plenty there that would terrify my 6 year old.

Besides the Alien section, there isn't anything scary about the Great Movie Ride.
