DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

My preference is an Imagineering Pavilion in the manner that Animation had when the Studios opened.

Of, by and for all things Imagineering.

The Muppet idea is just one that has been floating around. I was answering those who were wondering where it might go once squeezed out of its current home which seems inevitable.

Floating around where? Is someone who is actually credible and reliable saying this or is it just more speculative fantasy?

If the Muppets are deemed to be a poor thematic fit for or not worth keeping in whatever DHS becomes then they should be let go completely, shoehorning them in somewhere else just to keep them around is utterley pointless and accomplishes nothing.

It's amazing how many things could be tied to South Park, lol.

Just got me thinking about the episode where Spielberg and Lucas go back and change all of their old films and add digitally replace the guns with walkie talkies , I wonder with Disney owning the star wars franchise how much creative licensing they have over the old films. Could they say go back and release remastered episodes 4-6 before Lucas' digital enhancements?

I know the parks will be mostly based on the most recent movies, but I feel like there is an abundance of older IP that they could strike gold with eventually. There are so many lands/planets and adventures in the star wars universe, they could theoretically open a dedicated park, which will never happen in a million years, but its a nice thought.

Which also makes me curious if the lands will incorporate any images from the older movies, minus star tours.

There's so much stuff flying around, I dont even know what to believe.

Even my spies are saying "¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

The issue is two global issues: an epidemic in south america, that will have an impact on Florida's economy and China stumbling into a recession. Its more prevention by stoping the smoking and taking antibiotics(CapEx). The next few years will be rough.

This is the same company that has just recently learned that Pandora won't be enough to keep the park open till late.

Indeed. I would be more shocked if nothing is built. Further if they can get costs aligned to reasonable standards I could see them announcing more projects in the future. Purely to show to the investment community they have costs and construction under control and can build quickly.

Are you saying that there is a belief by leadership that DAK would need "more stuff" than Pandora in the future? I personally hope they feel that way and we'll see additional construction in the future, but am skeptical that we'll see any changes to the park post-Avatar for a long while.

As I've said on the Avatar subforum, I think DAK is fantastic, but needs a few more B- and C-tickets to fully flesh out the park for all guests.

Leadership feel that just having Pandora can't justify in running both Night time safaris and RoL as well as the extra staffing costs to keep the park open later.

I don't think you would be seeing B's and C's, more high capacity rides.

Because the original E.P.C.O.T. Center is no more. Previous management and all.

That said a theme park can rise from those ashes. And I trust Imagineering will do just that when it is Epcot's turn in line.

Until then, they have Disney Springs, Pandora, Flamingo Crossing, Soarin, Frozen, Toy Story Land, Toy Story Midway Mania, Star Wars Land and other projects keeping them busy.
You heard it here first. They're turning Epcot into Disney's Quirky Character Studios©.

OK, I don't post often and I'm not looking for anyone to give away anything that will get them into trouble, but basically from those that are in the know it looks like SWL might not be everything it could be because of cost overruns on Avatar?
