Nope. Didn't intend to emphasize the engine, just that we love the ride and I prefer it to stay until the other expansion pads in TL are used, as the chain of conversation would indicate.
And the only reason I brought up the HKDL version is to point out how captivating a great version of the ride can be. I'd have absolutely no issue with the ide at MK in WDW if it as actually interesting. Right now, with the shortened track, lack of visuals and 1960s lawnmower engine go-carts, it's just not that compelling. At HKDL, it is always the longest line in the park. Kids (of any age) love to drive cars, in any culture. Do it well, and it's a great ride.

Is it not amazing that the best 'Disney' experience is at parks not fully owned by TWDC...

you may be right about the story....but than again a great ride experience washes any need for story away from 9 out of 10 guests....you think i give a damn about a story when im on the hulk? no...i want to know why its not going faster. and spider man is nothing technologically ground breaking anymore. dozens of like rides...kuka arms? not so much.

Well then here you go: www.sixflags.com

you seem to misrepresent my post...i am only stating that a massive back story is NOT needed...
Not needed to some. And yet they're appreciated by others.

So a good backstory can cater to those who aren't intelligent enough to understand, realise there actually is one, or just don't care, and to those who do realise and do appreciate them.

C'mon, folks!

Has @WDW1974 taught us nothing?

Phase 2's are the stuff coffee table books are made of.

Does anyone here really, truly think we'll ever see a phase 3 let alone a phase 4?

Lot's of pixie dust being snorted in this thread
I snort nothing and believe 3 phases are all-but-certain here. The phase 2s you are referring to are 2nd phases of an existing project after it is complete. Like, "oh, we will come back in 5 years and add a third AVATAR ride." Or "we will get to that Spaceship Earth descent. Promise." Those never happen. This is one project that has been budgeted to include three lands. The fourth would be the optional add-on that we may or may not see. Perhaps the nomenclature should shift from Phase 1-4 to Land 1-4.

Atlanta could, and just like the last time do it without soaking the local or state tax payers. What the IoC didn't like is they didn't get their usual personal graft cuts.
Atlanta now (and the surrounding areas) are more inhabited than two decades ago. And the transportation infrastructure has not kept pace. The only way Atlanta could host the games again is if cities in Tennessee and Alabama helped out....

I was referring to other posts about getting rid of it simply because it's valuable land. Not your comment.

Really spending 2 frikken hours (that's AFTER waiting in line) to get our AP's activated is an acceptable level of service, While in the pre MM+ days show drivers license and credit card and you had your AP's at the will call in 10 minutes or less. No that's simply service on par with the DMV or any random cable company.

I was there the last Saturday of Food and Wine and Disney had a little trouble finding my on line annual pass renewal. Overall it was about 20 minutes for them to fix the problems. Within ten minutes of that I get a phone call on my cell phone from guest services saying how sorry they where and awarding us one fast pass each. It was great Disney service that day.

The following changes are rumored/expected to occur as part of this makeover: Talking about DHS:
Looks like Indy stunt spectacular is staying after all according to this site. No mention about a newer version of a Indiana jones ride is on here sadly to Indy fans.
  • The budget for the total makeover is expected to be roughly $2.8 billion. A $3.5 billion budget was rumored to have been approved for the entire resort with $300-350 million allocated to improvements at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
  • The budget will be for work done from 2015-2021. It does not include projects that have already been approved like the third track for Toy Story Midway Mania or the Flex Theater
  • Significant infrastructure improvements are expected. This would likely include a new entrance to the park's Parking lot. The expectation is that the World Drive entrance would be removed with a new entrance coming from Victory Way. It is also likely that parking structures are created for guest and cast member parking.
  • With closures to the Studio Backlot Tour and surrounding areas, the Toy Story Land expansion is expected to happen first, followed by the Star Wars Land.
  • Additional Star Wars Content
    • Site prep is expected in 2016
    • Major construction should begin in late 2016, but phases of Star Wars Land could open as soon as late 2018.
    • The budget for Star Wars and other Hollywood Studios enhancements/infrastructure improvements has been reported to be roughly $2.8 billion.
    • Elements from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will be included.
    • Location of the new land has not been determined. One scenario includes Star Wars Land taking over Echo Lake. That plan would begin at or around Hollywood and Vine and extend to the current location of Star Tours. This would be a street that connects Hollywood Boulevard directly to Star Tours with many side streets. This plan may also see some expansion into the parking lot. Other reports have indicated that Echo Lake expansion is unlikely.
    • Another location possibility would be expanding into the Parking lot
    • The Jedi Training Academy would move indoors into the Hyperion Theater (Currently home to For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Musical Celebration). Show changes may also include a Yoda animatronic
    • All movie set theming would be removed from the existing Star Tours area.
    • Backlot Express is expected to become the Cantina.
    • Guests will be able to visit a Cantina and watch the touring band from Mos Eisley Cantina. The Cantina will accommodate 300-500 guests.
    • One of the new Star Wars attraction is expected to take the footprint of the current Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
    • Another new Star Wars attraction could be North East of the current Star Tours.
    • 50's Prime Time Cafe and/or Hollywood & Vine could both become character dining.
    • Imagineers are pushing for a large streetmasphere presence with interactive components built into the surroundings.
  • Additional unconfirmed Toy Story content
    • Toy Story Land will result in the demolition of One Man's Dream and The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow buildings.
    • The land will be behind (West) the existing Toy Story Midway Mania building and include parts of the Studio Backlot Tour and Lights Motors Action practice area. It is expected to extend to World Drive (the current park barrier).
    • The current Pixar Place area will close and a new entrance to Toy Story Midway Mania will be made on the opposite side of the building.
    • The land is expected to open in 2017-2018
  • Additional Unconfirmed Pixar Content
    • The Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playset is expected to close and potentially be re-themed to "A Bug's Life".
    • Total Pixar Land could be twice the size of Star Wars Land and include Radiator Springs Racers
    • Monster's Inc Laugh Floor to be relocated from Tomorrowland to the area being used for Star Wars Launch Bay.
    • The Monster's Inc Door Coaster to be placed behind Monster's Inc Laugh Floor.
    • Pixar will be the right side of the park.
    • Toy Story Land expected to open in 2017-2018 with additional Pixar content being build before 2022.
  • A new indoor attraction is expected that utilizes the LPS technology used in Ratatouille in Disney Studios Paris, Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland, and Pooh's Hunny Hunt in Tokyo Disneyland. The theme and location of this attraction has not been determined but it has been rumored to be the long term replacement of The Great Movie Ride. This change isn't expected to occur until after the Turner Classic Movies Sponsorship ends (2020-2021 time frame).
  • Lights, Motors, Action to close.
  • The Animation Gallery is expected to close in late August.
  • The Block Party Bash parade from Disney California Adventure to move to Hollywood Studios
  • Hollywood & Vine and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular are expected to remain, at least for the short term.
  • Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage is expected to be replaced. Rumors include a Villains inspired show, a Tangled show, or upgrades to the existing show related to the Broadway production.
  • Voyage of the Little Mermaid is rumored to close at the end of September 2015 and ultimately be replaced.
  • Closure or relocation of Walt Disney: One Man's Dream. It is expected to have it's last day of operation on January 2, 2016.
  • Closure of The Academy of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza is expected to have it's last day of operation on January 2, 2016.
  • Closure of the Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins, and Sofia the First Meet and Greets are expected to have their last day of operation on January 2, 2016.

A good chunk of what you posted is obviously incorrect as it eludes to things happenings on dates that have already passed...
