DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

I was thinking of something along the lines of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Dances with Wolves. Just replace the first half of the Western town with a Western desert, and you've got an area that can serve both films.

And I actually do like the idea of Blazing Saddles. Just give the town new signs so that it looks more like Rock Ridge, replace the bank robbery with the fight scene (with no animatronics; all live actors) and give the cowboy hijacker some new lines and boom! We got a new cowboy switch.
"The sheriff is near!!!"

I'm not a cartography guy who can do accurate map layovers, but having been to Carsland, and knowing the DHS real estate available, I don't see how they could do an exact replica in FL - and anything less would be a disappointment. As cool as Carsland is, I'm in the school that hopes it remains unique to DCA and they develop a different IP in DHS. And PLEASE, no Marvel. If I want that (which I really don't), I can go to Uni. There are more than enough underdeveloped Disney/Pixar IPs that DHS could have something truly unique...
With Cars 3 due to hit the theatre in the near future, would it be possible that the story is at a different location then the first movie? Different backdrop / environment. That way if they build another CarsLand, it could be different then the one at DCA.

That's possible. I was just thinking, of course Carsland will be at least a bit different considered the alien ride in TSL will be a Mater clone. Maybe they could do an RSR-type ride set on a racetrack, it being in Florida and all.

I wish they would do something totally different in the Pixar family. Love the movie UP and the characters in it.

The irony of all there is is if you listen to a particular blogger that I don't necessarily care for… Mel Brooks was brought in to help create an attraction at MGM studios…

Apparently it never got off the board. Too edgy for Disney.
haha I think I know who spun that tale. LOL

Hotel Mel became the Hollywood Tower Hotel if that story is actually true. I remember reading something like that and wanting to ask insiders here if it was true.

I know there were conversations but I don't know how fleshed out the concept was before they moved to the more serious story they went with.

Interesting how fantasy land became a girl-centric area and DHS is going to be boy-centric.

Girl-centric? You realize of course that there is a spot called "Gaston's Tavern", complete with a statue of Gaston, yes? That makes Fantasyland one of the manliest spots on the planet. My mother took a bite out of one of the cinnamon buns there and immediately grew a handlebar mustache. True story.

Well I hope you gave your mom a subscription to the dollar shave club.

...no. I was referring to the 1972 film masterpiece The Godfather. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, starring Marlon Brando as Don Corleone, Al Pacino and James Caan as his sons, won the Academy Award for Best Picture...Surely you know this film.

Which would never, ever appear in a Disney attraction because there is no way in the world they would ever pay the millions it takes to get Brando's likeness. He and Sinatra are pretty much the most expensive dead celebrities to license.

Did they both find a way to take it with them?
