DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

If so, it's another step in the direction of Disney putting more faith in the IP than Lucas did. They did this by eliminating Hyperspace Hoopla a few years ago. They'll never admit it, but I'm sure the success of Harry Potter's cohesiveness has affected many decisions.

As much as this should bother me it never did. It was an accepted evil I guess to me maybe because Lucas always pimped out his characters for a dime.

So once the new fiscal year begins, September 28, things are gonna get rollin', right?

If so, and DHS timeline has been fast tracked, then I would be disappointed if this wasn't done by spring 2017. Most people in the know are stating fall 2017 though. Seems unusual for such a long build for a relatively simple area, given the desperate situation the park will be in this time next year.

Seems like most are unhappy with the construction times in general. Honestly I am just happy they are finally doing something with DHS. Its nice to hear things have been accelerated though I rather continue to pretend everything will be done 2021, just so that I don't get my hopes up. If they come earlier great if not then no biggie. I don't think any amount of complaining will make Disney do things differently. If we want things to change we need to hit them where it hurts most and that's their thickly lined pockets. I think if the numbers at the studios were to massively drop it would totally change Disney's tune. Now how do we plan a mass boycott? I would be down though not many others would join that's a fact.

Wimps, the two of them. I have ridden it probably 15 times and I ain't dead yet. However, since they forced us to all walk back from Mars, my feet are sore.
Seems like they could have sent another shuttle for us.

The last time I rode it, I had to hold on to the ground for 15 minutes before the building would stop moving.

Any word on if MK and Epcots rumoured $350million is still a 'thing'? (sorry didn't seem worthy of a new thread, but talk of Mission Space got me thinking about some of the much needed plussing that's required throughout Future World).

Geeesh, could some of you be a little more sensitive. I know you're kidding but one of them was a child who died after riding Mission: Space.

Yes, I keep wondering about this. That's a big chunk of money on its own and certainly could be a new addition to either park. I'm hoping/guessing that in Epcot it might mean something new being put into WoL or (more likely) ) at least a good renovation of some combo of Imagination/Captain Eo/Energy. Maybe it could be adding more to the Space pavilion as was originally planned. There was even some rumors at one point of adding the Paris Ratatouille ride to the France pavilion -- could that be in the cards?

In terms of MK, some sort of renovation of Tomorrowland seems quite possible, but that's too much money for just that unless they build something on the expansion pads in that land. They could also finally use the big expansion pad in Adventureland to build a new attraction (the old plot where Fire Mountain was going to go). The rumors about Frontierland seemed to be separate/after the report of the $350M budget.

I think a bigger questions is where were you just before you rode it? That might explain the building movement.

Oh it was the original version… it was also three concussions ago… Elista say, I am on able to ride that anymore. And I'm smart enough to pay attention to the warnings.

Am I the only one who found that in poor taste?
Maybe, depending on how long one hangs onto a situation that everyone is so afraid of talking about. That would be death. You can die in a car accident, crossing the street, sitting in front of the TV or riding a ride at Epcot. Most people would know that they didn't die because they were wimps, but, let's put all our emphasis on the death part and not the fact that we are all going to do it someday. It can be on a theme park ride or sitting on a toilet. (Elvis anyone?) There is a time to let all that uncontrollable fact of life stuff go. We don't get out of this alive.

That's not quite what we are talking about. It is more the fact that you make a joke of dying on a ride that is related with the deaths of two people. Its a matter of poor taste.

Well, you go to your church and I'll go to mine. It wasn't meant to offend, but, if you want to take it that way... who am I to stop you. The real problem is that people are blaming the ride when it was a physical problem with the people that died. It scares people into thinking that the thing is deadly, which it isn't. I find that in poor taste, to be honest! Those unfortunate folks might have died just as easily on any other ride in the park.
