It took them 6 months to get rid of the trams for Studio Backlot Tour and they have wheels and an engine.I would think these simple, empty facades should be able to go quick, but then again this is Disney. How long do you think SOA demo will take now that they've started?
And yet the SoA are coming down fairly rapidly now.It took them 6 months to get rid of the trams for Studio Backlot Tour and they have wheels and an engine.
They closed in April, let's not applaud them for starting to make progress 4 months later. And yet the SoA are coming down fairly rapidly now.
How much of the SOA needs to be eliminated for SWL?They closed in April, let's not applaud them for starting to make progress 4 months later.
I'm not applauding them. They've demolished a lot from then to now if you actually look at how much they had to demo. I mean they're essentially bulldozing 33% of the entire park. They closed in April, let's not applaud them for starting to make progress 4 months later.
These pictures give you an idea how much land is being used fir these projects. @danlb_2000 posted permits for the two lands.it will be interesting to see the progress by the end of the year. Plus, if plans for TSL get changed again?
Roughly half. How much of the SOA needs to be eliminated for SWL?
I don't applaud nor do I fault them because they just went by their schedule which, lord forgive them, doesn't match what you think it should be. They do things in their own pace and that is up to them, not us. We don't know what the reason was for not getting to it right away, but, the biggest might be because they didn't need to as it wasn't going to get done any sooner then all the ducks can be put in a row. Even giving them the chance to make changes without spending extra money to do so, is as good a reason as any. Where is everyone coming up with the determination of what time it should take. They are building a theme park not a desperately needed medical facility. They closed in April, let's not applaud them for starting to make progress 4 months later.
Thank you. And it looks like workers are in that area right now. Plus, most of us don't know what it takes to demo an area safely. It probably takes more than a wrecking ball. You dealing with gas lines, electric lines and so on. Permits have been filed. Hopefully they have SWL up and running by the holidays of 2019 - Just in time for the opening of Episode 9. Thanks again for making sense of what's going on at the four parks. Most of us like to do a lot of armchair.Roughly half.
Roughly half.
The section that has come down closest to MV3D is beyond the halfway point of the street, though.Roughly half.
The quarter next to Writers Stop should remain, albeit with some possible cosmetic changes. The rest should go.Does this mean only some of it's coming down, or should all of it be coming down? (I don't mind either way if it gives an awesome land!)

Expanded Muppet Courtyard I assume? That's right. This won't be SWL.
Replacement wall. The courtyard will be the same size give or take.Expanded Muppet Courtyard I assume?
Are there plans to make an attempt to tie the theming from Star Tours into SWL along this corridor? That's right. This won't be SWL.
Nope. Are there plans to make an attempt to tie the theming from Star Tours into SWL along this corridor?
