details of Cindy's breakfast

We celebrated dd's 3rd bday at Cindy's breakfast on Wed. This was great! It takes alot to impress my dad, and he liked it so much that he asked about making more reservations for another breakfast there. He mentioned it a few times.

OK on to our story... we go into the downstairs hall, Fairy Godmother is on the throne for pics and autographs. DD3 did great with her, ds4 wanted nothing to do with her at this point. This was our first morning at WDW and I think he was overwhelmed. When your table is ready, they announce "noble ______ family, your table is ready". They call men - m'lord (my dad ate that up, he is so "old country"), women- m'lady, girls -princess and boys- prince. As you go up the stairs, there is a stained glass window with a picture of Cinderella. I can see why it is so hard to get reservations, the restaurant is very small.

Before I forget, this place is wheelchair accessible. There is an elevator and there is a special restroom for folks in wheelchairs and their escorts.

We sat on the inside of the room so I can't comment on the view from the windows. They request that children sit on the outside of the table so the characters can interact with them better.

When we arrived at the table, there was Mickey confetti. Cute stuff. There were little bowls of fresh fruit and a yogurt dipping sauce. Baskets with muffins and croissants. The food is all you can eat. It is not family style, each person gets their own plate with everything on it. There are scrambled eggs (hot and fluffy, not at all rubbery), really good hash browns, that yummy cream cheese stuffed french toast with berry sauce, and bacon & sausage. DS got french toast sticks, eggs and bacon. DD's meal was free since she wasn't 3 yet, so she got french toast sticks. We were all very happy with the food and would definitely eat there again. They brought dd a cupcake with candle, I believe they sang happy birthday? I don't remember. She also received a magical moment certificate.

The princesses started coming around pretty much immediately after we got our food so we didn't get to eat it while it was hot, lol. But they just kept coming, and it was nice that we were able to move right onto the rest of the park when we were done eating, rather than sit and wait for them to reach our table.

We saw Cinderella, Belle, Mary Poppins, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Fairy Godmother again. Each looked realistic, especially Belle and Snow White. Snow White had an amazing smile, her whole face lit up while talking with the kids. When she gave her autograph, she kissed the paper and left a lip print. Mary Poppins did the best interacting with them. She carried on a conversation with them. When she saw ds wearing a Pooh shirt, she asked if they had ridden the Poo ride yet. He told her that he colored a picture for Tigger & Pooh. I felt like crawling under the table b/c we didn't have a picture for her. We didn't expect to see Mary Poppins.

Cinderella is my dd's all-time favorite. She was so happy to see her. Both my kids had colored a picture for her. She was really sweet. She acted like this was the best thing anyone had ever done for her. Even after she left the table, a few minutes later she was getting ready to leave the room, she made sure to wave the papers to the kids so they could see she was taking the pictures with her.

As an added bonus, we went on the carousel immediately after this. As we were leaving the ride, the CM pointed out to dd that Cinderella was waving outside the castle from an upper floor, so dd enjoyed waving to her.

I am so sorry! I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad. :( I did think some would like to know what the big fuss was about.

Maybe you could try right before you go, and see if there are any last minute cancellations?

Cindy's Breakfast

I am so glad to hear this...I wondered if it would be worth the SIX mornings I got up at 6 am to get these reservations!!! I didn't know if I was determined because it was so great or if it was like a Cabbage Patch/Beanie Baby thing- gotta do it because everyone else wants it!!!:sohappy:

The same thing happened to me. After being on holod until 7:10 I knew Cinderella's would be full. BUT!! I was persistent and called every few days or so at periodic times throughout the day. Lo & behold! We got a priority seating for the exact morning & time we were looking for!!! The only problem is that the table is for 4 and we are a party of 5. I hope we will still be allowed in. The little one can possibly still squeeze in a high chair. We will still get to go into the park early & stroll down Main Street.

Last year I was able to get PS's, but got sick that morning and missed it! So the rest of my family went and had a wonderful time.

If you don't get any PS before you go, still don't give up. Ask at the podium and you may still be able to get in.

Sending a little pixie dust your way.

Dixiegirl you need to make your PS EXACTLY 60 days in advance of the day you will be dining at the castle. It won't necessarily be 2 months, so count the days off on your calendar. Plus there are websites out there that will calculate the exact date you need to call. I would start on the first day and go from there, in case you don't get a reservation on your first try.

SheriDH have a wonderful time! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Camcodey hopefully it will work out for you. If you told them on the phone it was for a party of 5 you should be fine. We were a party of 6 and had no problems.

Don't stay on HOLD!!! Call Back!!!

If you are calling for reservations to Cindy's start calling 2 minutes before the hour.... the message will say they are closed.... then if you call and get put on hold... hang up and keep redialing until you get a live operator.

When I had trouble getting a PS for Cindy's breakfast, the very helpful CM gave us a veyr good tip. She told me to make a PS for the Pooh breakfast at CP ( I think they still do that one, yes?) but before checking in at CP, to go over to the Castle to see if there was a no-show. We are a party of 3, so fairly easy to accomodate. We took her advice and did just that, and after 5 mins of waiting, we got seated right next to the windows! DD was ecstatic, and it was extra nice bc it was a surprise.

I have to disagree with Scott. I have been told by CMs to NOT Hang up if you get the hold mesage. it means you got thru and will be picked up in the order in which your call came in. As far as being worth the time and trouble.....OH YEAH!!! This is probably one of the most magical times I have had in Disney period. I have managed to get these resevations when I really wanted them almost everytime. I do call exactly 60 days out and at 7 am EST. I have heard tell of tables being added (released?) later but I can neither confirm nor deny this. Any thoughts? Belle

To stay on Hold or not??

I know wannabebelle has over 900 posts and has been a member for a long time but I still have a strong opinion that it is not a good idea to stay on hold if you get the recording when calling for Cindy's reservations. I have been very successful in getting the reservations for my family and also for friends. I offer to do it for friends planning a Disney trip because I am at work at 7am and it is easy for me to hit the redial button starting at 6:58. I can pull up the atomic clock website and watch as the time approaches 7am EST.

http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java

The atomic clock time seems to mirror the switchboard at Disney. I have spoken to many people who wait with the recording and don't get picked up until 15 or 20 after 7 and all the ressies are gone. I keep calling back until a live operator answers.

Can anyone think of a way to test this? Or any opinions?

Hey Scott!! I didnt mean to be disrespectful at all and sincerely hope you didnt take it that way. I am glad that both of us have found ways that work for us in terms of getting these ressies. As far as checking it out, hopefully someone here is either in Reservations or knows someone who is and maybe would be kind enough to ask for us?? Belle
