Tickets don’t usually go on sale in January? From what I have seen during past announcements usually it's around March/April when they give out the official date for the expo.

That's what I'm thinking. The overall urgency of needing to make some big splashy announcement is really at a fever pitch and should not be dependent on the event.Too bad. After the political quagmire of bad news, all of the attention Epic Universe has been getting, and the other bad press items about Disney of late, some positive news would be welcome.
Whoops your right...I was looking at a few prior before they figured it all out .Tickets don’t usually go on sale in January?
Not sure where the announcement would be a better fit than a D23 event. The DAK project would be a major announcement, and I don’t think would happen at Destination D23.
Actual D23 Expo. Little has ever been announced at these Destination D23 events. Not sure where the announcement would be a better fit than a D23 event.
Agreed, but we typically get details on past announcements. They can just sort of confirm something is happening from the Blue Sky segment.Actual D23 Expo. Little has ever been announced at these Destination D23 events.
The biggest news I would expect is probably something entertainment-related. Setting yourself up for disappointment for any major E-ticket news.
Even that could be a parks blog post.Well we know now it’s not anything parade related, at least for WDW. So it must just be Epcots new nighttime show.
