So I was thinking, everyone likes to talk about drinking around the World Showcase, but how about eating desserts from every country in the WS?

Anyone ever do this? What desserts would people recommend from each country? I think I plan on doing this when I go in July. It should be yummy.

I have tried but have never made it all the way around. We did Churros in Mexico, School bread in Norway, Kaki Gori in Japan, Funnel Cake in America, Straweberry Red Bean Ice Cream in China, Short bread in the UK, Creps in France, Baklava in Morocco, Gelato in Italy and Black Forest Cake Roulade in Germany.

I absolutely adored my chocolate croissant I got at the bakery in France. I have to say if I did desserts around the world, I too would get stuck in France.

The sorbet trio at Les Chefs de France is amazing, Carmel Ginger ice cream in China is really good, and the baklava at Morrocco is scrumptious as well (although very sweet which not everyone likes)

I don't ususally get desert in every country nor do I always get desert in general. When I do its usually to cool down in the Florida heat or b/c it;s and old favorite.

Here is what I usually look for:

Mexico - Cantaloupe Paletas (Popsicles)

Norway - Cloudberry Horn

Germany - Apple Strudel or Gummi Bears

Italy - Gelato

America - Funnel cake

Japan - Kaki Gori

Morocco - Baklava

France - Raspberry Schuss, or Fruit tarts

I have never done that, but I would love to! I could probably only handle a bite of each, but here is my list.

I would have churros in Mexico, school bread in Norway, red bean ice cream in China, Cannoli in Italy, black forest cake roulade in Germany, kaki gori in Japan, funnel cake in America, eclair in France, Marrakesh Delight in Morocco, sticky toffee pudding in the UK and maple creme brulee in Canada.

We did "eating & drinking" around the world, so we had a little mix of drinks & food. From what I remember, this is what we had:

Canada: Beer
UK: Tea
France: Crepes (yum!)
Morocco: Baklava & Sangria (found a hair baked into my baklava...and that was the end of that.)
Japan: Sake
America: Funnel Cakes
Italy: Wine
Germany: Some sort of chocolate nut thing that was great. It was from Karamelle-Kuche.
China: Noodle or Rice bowl of some kind, I can't remember this one well.
Norway: School Bread
Mexico: Churros & Margaritas

A lot of stuff to mix together! We did this over the course of an entire day, not all one after the other. And we shared between our group, so nobody ended up drunk or sick. My favorite thing was the crepe's in France, and the chocolate in Germany - would recommend both for a dessert tour!

I definitely agree with other posters to share desserts or you'll be quite full quite quickly. I can't say I've ate my way around the world...we've done the eat/drink around the world.

Mexico - Margaritas and Churros (breakfast of champions)

Norway - We tried the lefse and sweet pretzel...both were good but not amazing. going to try the infamous schoolbread in May

Germany - some sort of candy. Now it would be something from the new caramel shop for sure. We also love the pretzels/apple strudel.

Italy - Candy! The little chocolates are perfect for just a small snack. We bought a jar of chocolate cannoli wafer sticks (technical term) for only about 10 bucks and ate them all week.

France - eclairs, croissants, chocolate mousse...it's all good! Beware of the bakery...your eating around the world could end here as it's so tempting to get more than one thing!

Morocco - baklava!

We usually eat counter service food at China and Japan. Love their orange chicken in China and teriyaki chicken in Japan.

Canada. beer and table service at Le Cellier. Thats all I ever get in Canada.

UK's best dessert is....beer!

And we usually skip the USA in terms of food because well...we can get that any day!

It's even more fun to do during the food and wine festival.
A few of my favorites from the original 11 countries are
Caramel Corn-Germany
Rice Cream-Norway
Cream Puff-France

This thread is making my mouth water.... LOL
I would love to do this... In fact, my husband and I did talk about spending an afternoon in World Showcase sampling the cuisine. I'm definitely all about the Italy showcase; I love fresh cannoli!! :D
