I havent flown on Delta in 7 years and have only flown on SW since. I was wondering if there was any difference in service or amenities between airlines..or any suggestions/comments at all! I'm a little nervous!:lookaroun
"WDWFreak(some numbers)" could tell you a bit about Delta and a puppy dog...:lookaroun
I'm flying Delta to WDW in May. *crossing fingers*
Down with Delta.
Well, today's the day the puppy comes in.
Here's the flight information as of last night.
1. Fly from Tulsa to Atlanta
2. Fly from Atlanta to Boston (arrival time...about the time I get out of work).
Now...the flight information changes...and it's a later arrival time.
I call Delta because I want to know exactly what time I need to be at the airport. I have a reference number and I'm given the information that was scanned for that particular ref. number.
She left Tulsa this morning...then flew into Cincinatti...and left Cincinnati this afternoon and will be in Boston about the time I get out of work.
Umm...WHAT? Where did Cincinatti come from? (and more importantly...why is my reference number, which has my name assigned to it, have something being electronically scanned in the wrong airport???)
Needless to say, this puppy has been off of Delta's radar for about 5 hours now.
But, there's more. I called Delta back and they contacted the Tulsa airport. (This is about 1:30)...and they tell me that she hasn't even left Tulsa! What?!??!! Now, she'll be flying to Atlanta...and arrive in Boston LATE tonight. UMM...Are they just pulling these times out of the air?
Now, the shelter is all in a panic so they call Delta...and speak to a supervisor to straighten it out. They give her a completely different flight number and arrival time than they JUST gave me. (At least Cincinatti's out of the picture).
So, even now...Delta can't tell me what flight and what time she will be arriving. They've narrowed it down to 2 flights...and times...but can't tell me which one she'll be on (and it's not like the 2 flights arrive even remotely close in time).
But, this is the problem...this poor puppy has been at the airport in a crate since 6:30AM my time...and may not get to me until LATE tonight. I know the shelter packed her with water and food and told them that she must be fed and hydrated throughout the layover...but if they don't even know where/when she is...are we sure that those instructions got passed on?!?!?!
How can you misplace a puppy?!?!?!?
NEWS UPDATE! PUPPYWATCH 2007! hehe.
Well, you know the whole story with the 8:45 vs 10:45?
Well, they told me that they'd call me at 6:00PM and tell me what flight she was definitely on.
At 6:10 I get a call.
John in Atlanta: "Hello Brian, did the Boston airport contact you?"
Me: "No, why?"
John: "Well, it seems your dog has been in Boston since 5:30"
Me: *flying off the handle on them*
So, after leaving work (which is 3 miles from Logan)...I drive all the way home (15 miles but...still took me an hour). So, we hop back in the car and drive ALL the way back. (Now, still rush hour...and now inbound to Boston only has 3 lanes due to the HOV zipper). Yet again...another hour in the car. We get there at about 7:15.
Rita in Boston: "Hello, you must be looking for your dog."
Me: "Me, Tulsa, Cincinatti, and Atlanta apparently."
Rita: "Well, we made a mistake...she wasn't on the flight...she's coming in from Atlanta."
Me: "WHAT?!?!?!?!"
Rita: "Yeah, see we had 5 dogs on that flight and assumed one of them was yours because there was a mixup on the electronic scanning of your airbill number"
Me: *Keeping my composure as BEST I can* simply said, "Ok, then what flight is she on...and WHEN will she be here."
Rita: "Well, she's either coming in at 8:45 or 10:45"
Me: *gives her my number, takes ALL of her information, and everybody there* and tells her to call me as SOON as she is 100% sure that this is MY dog...and there are no "mishaps" and "assumptions."
So, anywho...she eventually came in on the 8:45 flight...and her name is Maggie
She's everything I wanted in a puppy...she's so lovable, she's playful when she wants to be, she isn't constantly in our faces, and she loves playing in the snow!

Hope k.hunter 30 has more luck with them
You get what you pay forConsidering they've already changed my flight without notifying me, (thank goodness for Magical Express or I don't know if I would have realized!) I'm not too hopeful...:lookaroun
But, hey, it was $75 cheaper per person... Here's hoping for the best!
Kyle, for domestic coach class, with crap frequent flyer programs, I gotta agree with you... but when you need to fly internationally, or if you are a busienss traveler with status on another airline... no thanks.JetBlue or Southwest are the way to go. Much nicer people--if you can get past Southwest not assigning seats (aggravating if you are unlucky enough to end up in Group C and have your choice b/t middle seat b/t two 400 lbs. people or surrounded by screaming kids) and JetBlue's...poor decisions...of the past few months. Better than Delta's planes held together with duct tape though.
I love Alaska... Airtran, I have nothing bad to say about. US Airways.. US Scareways/Northwest... Northworst )I use Alaskan, Airtran, NorthWest, or US Airways for domestic flights. I'm assuming I'm lucky because the only problem I've had with ANY of them is arriving early (which happens to me a lot on AirTran from MCO to CAK).
