WDW has done a great job at ruining local carnivals and amusement parks for me, in the same way that laying on a beach in the Caribbean has ruined visiting a Lake Erie beach here-and I mean ruined in a good way.Yeah, "I've been to the county fair--why would I spend all that money to go to Disney World?"
Do they chant while shopping and line jump at the Walmart checkout counters, too?I saw a Brazilian woman with a thong bikini at Blizzard Beach.
I'm Brazilian so I understood her telling her family that "these people should just get over it. My *** is fabulous and it will be out for everyone to see."
The a CM showed up and said her bikini bottoms were not appropriate. She had to go back to her hotel and change. She was ****ed off and talking really loud in Portuguese how she was the customer so she's always right and that she didn't have any bathing suits that didn't show everyone how fabulous her *** was and that she had to go buy a new bathing suit. She then proceeded to say that if they had to go shopping, they might as well just go to Walmart and shop the rest of the day.
Yes, Brazilians don't have the equivalent of a one stop shop type of stores such as Walmart and they come here and shop the crap out of Walmart.
Disney tour groups have on their schedule, time slots for shopping at Walmart.
To be honest when captain eo first opened in the 80s 3D was a new thing. Now if this was during the reopen of Captin EO then I would have no clue how that person did not know what 3D glasses were.Getting 3D glasses for Captain EO, when someone asks loudly "Why are you giving us sun glasses, isn't it dark in the theater, or is it one of those new open air kind?" oO
Well, it's pretty common in theme parks, but, I don't recall ever seeing one recently outside of a theme park other then the occasional movie. I think it would be very easy to not know what they are for if you weren't really paying attention or didn't know what you were about to see was in 3D.To be honest when captain eo first opened in the 80s 3D was a new thing. Someone told us we were making them feel cold because they were bundled up and we were in shorts. It's all relative, in the 30s at home the day before, now it's 65? Shorts. It was in the 70s within an hour and I would have been miserable in long pants.Always have and always will. I've never worn anything but shorts and T's during all my February trips. Wait, I take that back. One day during the 100th Birthday of Walt, I had to wear a windbreaker cause the north wind was a little chilly. Otherwise, always t's and shorts. You have to remember that when I would leave Vermont in February, quite often it was 20 or more below zero. That is a 65 degree difference and it seemed quite comfortable to me. I did have to chuckle at the Mittens, Parkas and Knit Hats worn by the CM's though.
CM's are supposed to stay in character but honestly I think when they break the guest still get a kick out of it because it just shows we're all human. We were getting ready to get on our elevator at TofT. The CM was giving us the usual safety instructions, in character, and starts glaring at a woman on her cell phone in another row. The woman put her cell phone away. The CM proceeded, but continued to pick on the woman (who took it good naturedly)
Another CM comes behind us and says to the first CM, "You're so angry. It must be the constipation."
Needless to say, CM #1 broke character.
I agree and I always like to see those human mements from the cast members. And I love it when I see them looking genuinely happy and enjoying their day (whether they are in character or not).CM's are supposed to stay in character but honestly I think when they break the guest still get a kick out of it because it just shows we're all human.
It can be a very rewarding job.... I tell people I can't wipe the smile off my face. They pay me to have fun and I look forward to every shift with excitement.I agree and I always like to see those human mements from the cast members. It's great, if it's rare. Otherwise, every ride becomes the Jungle Cruise.I agree and I always like to see those human mements from the cast members. And I love it when I see them looking genuinely happy and enjoying their day (whether they are in character or not).
Your right it should be rare but there are those times that it's just spontaneous and you let go and put it behind you and get right back in character. And in that odd special way it may have been amusing to some guest not because of the joke but they got to see a side that is not often revealed. It's great, if it's rare. 45 degree day in Winter and I'll be in tee shirt and shorts every time. I remember being at EPCOT in the early 2000's and a cold front was going through. All the locals were in heavy coats and hats. My family which had just left 17" of snow and single digit temperatures in Ohio had on our Ts and shorts when One of the locals looked at us and said " Not from around here are you?" wonder what gave it away.Same folks that show up in Orlando in February, still dressed in cargo shorts and tshirts, even though the local temp is around 45.
being one of them, I hope not!!!I was walking past the Leave a Legacy section at Epcot last night and heard a boy say to his mother, "Mom, are these people buried under here?!?!"
