I'm really struggling with this. I want to be able to enjoy all of the theming, however, I don't want to waste 2 hours in a line.

Right?! I really don't want my first time on any attraction in a fast pass line. But then again queues aren't always great. This promises to be really good.

Just from looking at this, I believe imagineering is on to something special. If any alterations were made they would be for safety reasons but other than that I hope the design stays close to what we are seeing here.

So just to confirm, as said previously in this thread, this image is not what will be in the ride.

Guests will be riding in a "link-chair," which will link the rider with his or her Avatar, with the Avatar actually riding the banshee. The "link-chair" is somewhat like the glider mechanism in Soarin'. Guests will not actually be sitting on a banshee.

The actual seating can be see in this video - VIDEO - Nightline offers the most in-depth look at Pandora - The World of Avatar

The Nightline video does appear to be a bit more like something you're straddling though. It's still not completely clear to me that this is Soarin' style seating.

the big question for me now is does the seat move out so that we are elevated or is it on the ground
it would be disappointing if its on the ground

Elevated. As seen in the previous images there's 3 levels of seats per theatre, all above ground level.
It looked as if it had a set up similar to Mission Space in terms of each seat having its own screen. Or was that just the way it looked?
