From MousePlanet:

"In a separate press release, Disney detailed the lineup for the returning version. The parade will be led by the original Main Street Electrical Parade opening float, the classic drum unit that inspired one of the floats in the Paint the Night parade. Making the return to Disneyland are the 16-foot-tall Elliot from Pete's Dragon, the Cinderella's clock tower unit, and the "To Honor America" patriotic finale float.

The Peter Pan, Snow White, Pinocchio, and Alice in Wonderland units last seen at Disney California Adventure will all return to Disneyland. The Tinker Bell hot air balloon float will not be in this version of the parade, but Tinker Bell will appear on the Peter Pan unit.

The Blue Fairy float and Dumbo Circus units will not be presented in this version of the parade."
Looks like the Drum float will be the first float spotted.

Doesn't help that they still have a complete soundtrack of the Dumbo section that is currently unused!

I can get Dumbo, but I don't see why they'd leave out a fairy leading float? Isn't the supposed premise of the parade that a fairy's magic leads the way? I don't necessarily see anything in that press release dismissing a blue fairy return however... But regardless I'm glad about the updated drum, and I get a sense from the wording that maybe we'll see the original score? Who knows.. Can't wait!
Oh they will be keeping the current score burrowed from Dreamlights.

But they missed an opportunity for bringing back the Dumbo section since they made a new soundtrack for the floats.

Is this official??? I ask because the classic score was used for the boat parade last week. I prefer the Dreamlights score.

I would assume the blue fairy and dumbo unit no longer exists.
I remember reading around the time it happened that the "new" Dwarf mine and Pleasure Island floats were built on the chasis of the Dumbo unit. There was never any chance that it would return for this engagement

The Blue Fairy float was also scrapped around that time, but obviously wasn't reused for the Electrical Parade. Given the dimensions of it, I wouldn't be surprised if it were reborn as one of the drum floats in Soundsational when it debuted a couple years later [Edit: Some of the drum floats are built on leftover chassis from the Celebrate! A Street Party "balloon" floats, the Blue Fairy may or may not be in there too]

Disney has a knack for reusing things like that. Much of Block Party Bash was built on the chassis left over from Eureka!, and I've heard that some of the old Eureka! floats even made their way into Paint the Night

That's still a strange move for TDA since they usually preserve there older floats (Such as having the Pinocchio units and the other half of the Snow White section backstage for over 14 years until 2010). Unlike WDW where the scrapped the entire parade for there former nighttime parade Spectromagic.

It sure does feel weird knowing the Drum float is the opening section.

The Dreamlights soundtrack was used for the official Disney boat.

This boat uses the classic score.

You're right! Thanks! I'm sick so my head doesn't work sometimes. Again this could be me but did it sound a little different in the boat parade than in MK?

And that ferry float was one of the last floats updated , wonder what disaster WDW management did to it and the circus floats which were also updated before it left
And wasn't the tinker bell float all New before it left as well. Seems that every time it left Anaheim it returned smaller.

I remember the Tinker Bell float's hot air ball on got a design change a few years ago.

No Dumbo? Expected. No big loss.
No Blue Fairy? Ok...I can live with that. I have since it came to WDW in 2010.
No Tink? Now we're in dangerous territory.
But to ditch those things and still have the DreamLights version of the music? UGH!!!!!!!!

The Main Street "sort of what you remember but not quite" Electrical Parade.

I think WDW just stopped using the tarp that was covering the balloon...it fell off or something. I'm assuming this of course, I have no evidence to back it up.

Yeah but the Blue Fairy is pretty iconic for MSEP prior to 2010.
