HI all,

I've made a ADR for Crystal Palace, but am having second thoughts on it, after reading all the horrible comments. Originally wanted to go to 1900 Park Fare, but will be renovated at the time we go. Any suggestion as to which restaurants is better?

We are concentrating on food quality since we don't have kids and seeing characters is not a big thing for us.

Choices:
Crystal Palace
Cape May Cafe
or open for suggestion

We went to The Crystal Palace for dinner last summer & we loved it!
There was a huge waiting line for people who did not have reservations.
Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore & Piglet were there.
We actually celebrated my oldest DS b-day there.
The food was good too - buffet style.:slurp:
We also went to 1900 Park Fare at the GF.:king:
This was before the refurb began.
It was nice too.
We saw Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Fairy Godmother, Suzy & Perla.
The food was good - also buffet style.:slurp:
Since the refurb began, they are serving this dinner in The GF Cafe'.
This restaurant is nice too.
We are returning to both of these dinners in Sept.
Hope this helps!

Personally I feel as though the quality of the food gets much better when you stay away from the character dining. For dinner Cape May is fantastic, as is Boma, Fulton's, Whispering Canyon....anything in Epcot!! My personal observation is that dining at the various resorts is better than in the parks, with the exception of Epcot in the countries. LeCellier is among the best there.

If you have no kids and characters don't matter to you than I'm not usre why you would go. Skip it and head for Cape May or anything in EPCOT's World Showcase instead or if you want something around MK, try Ohana's at Poly.

Speaking as an adult, the kids loved the Pooh characters, and we loved an unlimited buffet where there were so many vegetables, particularly the salads. Often, dining out for a week, vegetables and an afterthought. We got plenty of servings of vegs here, to balance out the week.

Crystal Palace had great food and really top-notch service when we ate there in February.

We love Crystal Palace!!!

I'm so glad to hear that Cafe Cape May has a great dinner buffet. We are trying it for the first time in Oct. We're also going to try the breakfast buffet at Cafe Cape May too.

Eh, I liked Crystal Palace just fine. Where da haterez at? I'll cut choo!

But if you want some other options for that particular day, I'd suggest keeping it near MK. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. OHana's at the Poly. And the best meal deal on property, Trails' End Buffet at Fort Wilderness. You can monorail to OHana's. Monorail/Ferry/OR walk to Chef Mickey's. And ferry to Trails' End.

Also consider ferrying over to WL for Whispering Canyon Cafe. They have individual entrees, AND they also have an all you can eat menu selection.

Crystal Palace wasn't bad, but its main virtues are the characters and the MK location. If you are mostly concerned about good and interesting food, I'd consider other places. Slappy Magoo had some good suggestions above.

I loved the characters too!...
But, I am a big fan of the character dinners...
My hubby is more of a proponent for food qualtity.
