Awesome....We are staying at CBR too from Aug 14-21 for the first time. Will let you know how it is. Hope you have a magical trip for your daughter's B-Day.

LMAO..we decided the same thing...just the two of us over labor day...I dcecided to stay at POFQ...while its a moderate..Ive always wanted to stay there...we usually do the Boardwalk..for extended trips like our upcoming xmas 2013. the room..King bed waterview was a great price...

I think you'll like CBR. It is a large resort. The pirate themed pool for little ones is very nice! You can see some of EPCOT fireworks from the beach. The buses are rather slow though. The check-in building is in a completely different area than the food/souvenir area. The bridge over to the main complex is a nice walk w/ turtles and fish. There are many Disney ducks and birds all around.:)
It's not nearly as grand and convenient as WL, and the restaurant Shutters is nowhere near Whispering Canyon Cafe, but I think you'll still enjoy the beauty of it. Hope you have a great time!:D

We loved CBR and are staying there again in December. Ask for a room near the footbridge in Aruba or Jamaica if possible as they're very centrally located to everything.

Martinique is a great area, even in the non-preferred area (if that still exists :) as it is close to Port Royale for Food and the pool! We spent our Honeymoon there 22 yrs ago and still enjoy it although the kids prefer Pop Century more! Go Figure!

The Magical Express luggage tags came in the mail yesterday and Allie checked the mail so we told her we were going for her B-Day. We leave 2 weeks from today, and I can only guess how many times she's going to ask "how many more days"?

I've always wanted to do that - not just with WDW, but in general. But when both of you work full time and have kids in school, it just always seems so irresponsible... Maybe one day I just won't care and will jsut hit the "book it" button! :rolleyes:

Side note: I was just joking with my hubby the other day about how in the next few weeks, we'll have our Disney CC paid off entirely and that now the credit was open for an "Emergency" trip to WDW!

I have stayed at the CBR 3 times and loved everyone! I feel like I am in the Caribbean Islands, the heat, the music and on top of that I am in DISNEY! The best advice I can give you is to ask for a perferred room, close to the food and a bus stop. This year we are trying Coronado Springs.

My kids (teens and myself)have had a poster board with some of our favorite pictures of the MK and our hotel we selected along with our names on it we have been counting down with large cut pieces of posterboard cut with numbers on it and they are attached with poster putty. These are changed daily to show how many more days until we leave! Today it says 4 days!!
