DCA is a half day Park

As much as I'm skeptical of Pixar Pier and a Marvel land, we haven't seen the finished product yet. I'm gonna wait another few months before I grab the pitchfork, even if I am skeptical.

Guardians is popular enough, and I'm all for attractions that only exist in one park. I an also say with certainty that Marvel Land will be better than Bugs land.

I'm not nostalgic about DCA, and would much rather have WDI experimenting over there than within the sacred realm that is Disneyland, so I encourage expansion and change in DCA.
Yee but I am.

Soarin' Around the World is desperately missing what SoC had; heart. When I watched SoC, I could tell the people behind it put in a lot of thought and work behind which scenes in California deserved to be showcased. It's patriotic, it's heartwarming, it's just a tear jerker. I hate the state of CA and it made me appreciate it all over again.

Around the World, I imagine a few guys in a room going "hey, what about the Taj Mahal? How about the Eiffel Tower? yeah yeah, let's just film famous locations and later add in a bunch of CGI filler!!" Feels like it took them less than a day to think of the locations.

I preferred the California version because it focused on landscapes/settings rather than individual icons. This also helped prevent the curved screen effect that’s embarassingly bad for those not seated in the middle section. The Taj Mahal and Eiffel Tower are too tall.

Soarin' Over California will be back. Mark my words.

Never doubt marketing's ability to get something back when they only need to flip some switches, change some signs or send some trailers to WDW to take whatever they want.

Since this year is 'Pixar Pier', I think SoC will be a good thing to launch against SW:GE next year.

I want to go just bc it's another Disney park I haven't been to and my goal is go to all of them eventually =D But I'm really interested in Grizzly River Run, Guardians of the Galaxy, Radiator Springs Racers, the new Incredicoaster, Frozen Live, World of Color, and I already love The Little Mermaid ride, Toy Story Mania, and Soarin!

Don't listen to all the naysayers. DCA, for all its flaws and faults (of which there are many), is still a worthwhile park as it stands today in 2018 and if you've never seen it before, I suspect you will enjoy it quite a bit. It just unfortunately doesn't even come remotely close to holding a candle to its original neighbor across the esplanade which makes all its flaws that much more noticeable.

As I'm assuming you are a fan of the Wildnerness Lodge, given your screenname, I think you will particularly like the the Grizzly Peak area around the Grand Californian Resort which has many characteristics in common with the Wildnerness Lodge. It's one of my favorite areas of the park, especially at night.

Good call! I guess you won't have the knowledge of what used to be there before, to shape out your opinion on things before you get to experience them ;) i hope you have a great time! Enjoy yourself!

I enjoy DCA and can easily spend a whole day there enjoying the park. It is true, the park really needs to up its attraction count especially some that are indoors and do not have limited operating hours. The park has the issue of having several rides that are outdoors and have to close down every night for WOC leaving one side of the with only a couple attractions that are open. Add to that the fact that the Hollywood area side or east side of the park has shows that all close down early in the day and levaes little to do in that area as well. By night fall the park has areas that are pretty much dead.

The one thing that helps is the lively entertainment they offer all day and the fact that DCA actually shines even more with the extraordinary lighting package.

Agreed. While many of us CAN'T STAND what they're currently doing to the pier, that doesn't mean we don't love much about the park. DCA is absolutely worth visiting at least once for Cars Land, Grizzly Peak and Buena Vista Street. And, in any form, Screamin'/Incredicoaster is a lot of fun.
