DCA is a half day Park

Soarin’ Over the World sucks badly. The CGI completely kills it for me. That’s one less attraction for me. I loved Soarin’ Over California. It was a must do, and I agree that we should have he option of either. Or they can just remove World and give us updates footage of California.

Buena Vista Street is a gem. It’s my favorite area of the park. Contrary to popular belief, Paradise Pier was another favorite area of mine, but Disney is currently in the business of making situations worse.

It’s obvious that you see what they filmed. You’re objecting to any filters or processing that it may have had. The original had less such processing and people complained about the grainy images and the dirty films. They went digital so there’s no grainy or dirty film to worry about. If you want a side by side comparison, they could just do a quick digital copy, but it’ll get a bad response if it’s not further improved by eliminating the specks that you enjoy so much.

If you're not going to take the time to read what I'm actually saying, I'm not going to take the time to type a proper response.

I responded several times to what you have said. Maybe what you enjoyed from the first movie is happy memories.

My notes were about the bad transitions and overuse of CG and/or animation over what they filmed — not the clear digital film quality. Nearly every scene features cartoony animated animals and special FX. Even the Taj Mahal is 100% computer generated. Stop making assumptions for the sake of arguing everything on here.

This is a bit better in explaining why you dislike it. That’s why it’s Soarin’ 2.0. It’s an update of the first one. I heard about Taj Mahal being animated rather than the real thing. That’s too bad.
Flight of Passage does it best. All looks like one continuous flight
Then again, this is classic.

I quite enjoy Soarin despite the CGI and I did think the animated animals were real.

If you’re not with young kids and the E’s have long lines then there’s almost nothing to do.
That's only true for locals or other semi-regular guests. If you're visiting from far away and the E's have long lines, you're going to wait in the long lines. You can't say "it's a half day park if you skip everything with a line."

And the worse quality about Soarin’ Over the World that no one seems to notice: the HUGE difference in the amount of movement.

This is a fantastic point that escaped my attention! Another subtle element that I miss from the original version is how the ending gradually transitioned from day to night, starting in Malibu and ending at Disneyland.

True but if you get there early and utilize FPs you could be done with the Es by mid afternoon at a moderate pace.

True. Of course you can always fill a full day with the park, but I still think it’s attraction roster is thin. Also the visuals aren’t as interesting. Epcot, DAK, etc I could walk around for hours without going on much. The same can’t be said for DCA.

I haven't been to DCA with a one-park ticket, only hoppers, and so I haven't tried to fill a day there.

But as tourists instead of APers, I think we could fill a day easily at DCA by including more relaxing, high-end, dining time than we typically do when we're chasing the ride count in both parks with a hopper. Ending the afternoon with a cocktail at The Carthay Circle or the Hearthstone Lounge followed by dinner at the Napa Rose will fill a good portion of time, and would improve my mood and stamina for a last swing though the park before closing. DCA offers this experience in a way that DL doesn't.

Our eldest has developed a penchant for ordering the most expensive thing he can find on a menu when unrestrained, and our youngest has already told us that he wants his first alcoholic drink on his twenty-first birthday to be a hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps at the Hearthstone Lounge (he's thirteen, and I expect several things about that to change), so I think our boys would be just fine with my DCA full-day strategy.

I've never been to DCA but want to so badly! I got to go to DL for my first time last year and there wasn't enough time in my trip to go to DCA =( But I'd love to go eventually! Maybe I would do 1.5 days at DL and .5 day at DCA bc there was plenty I didn't even get to do in DL in one day!

Like a fine wine, DCA is getting better with age. There should be no rush in going, at least before Marvel opens.

If this was 2015 I'd agree.

As much as I'm skeptical of Pixar Pier and a Marvel land, we haven't seen the finished product yet. I'm gonna wait another few months before I grab the pitchfork, even if I am skeptical.

Guardians is popular enough, and I'm all for attractions that only exist in one park. I an also say with certainty that Marvel Land will be better than Bugs land.

I'm not nostalgic about DCA, and would much rather have WDI experimenting over there than within the sacred realm that is Disneyland, so I encourage expansion and change in DCA.

Although I dislike everything they're doing at DCA, I agree with your last point. Unfortunately it's not necessarily true with season of the force and what not.
