Oh, and also an idea for a potc style ride for liberty square that takes you back in time to the American revolution. Similar layout to California potc with restaurant and 2 drops.

I'm not sure how that would work as an attraction. It is about a war after all, unless it takes a more vignette-esque narrative, sailing through key events of the American Revolution. Like The American Adventure, but with boats, keeping the patriotic and optimistic sense that the other US history attractions have.

Yeah, that's the challenge. Even with how far back it was, it was still an actual war and it feels like something that could wind up feeling too propaganda-ish depending on how it was handled.

My initial thought is to do something more about capturing the mood of this event, passing through a town hit by the taxation and passing through a battle between the British and the Americans. That way, you could communicate the details of that time and the impact of this war without being tied to specific real figures. Vignettes could be a solid way to present the history of the American Revolution, but I feel like there might be a risk in painting too much of a pretty picture on specific individuals or events.

It's a real balancing act, I'll certainly say that.

Among these recent requests, here is that Simpsons idea.

Homer Simpson’s Wild Ride
(Dark ride)
Welcome to the Springfield Management and Research of Tourism, where Professor Frink’s Automated Automobile will take you on a carefully guided tour of the town. Unfortunately, Homer has wound up in the control booth, and a glitch he causes sends you on a madcap drive.

There are certainly plenty of paths that you could go with a Simpsons attraction. Certainly, you can lean into the parodic nature of The Simpsons and go with something that pokes some fun at theme parks (much like The Simpsons Ride over at Universal Studios). In this case, I decided to try running with the request's original mention of touring through locations from the show. After all, there are so many memorable locales and characters from the show. Why not a dark ride that embraces that element?

Guests would enter in the Springfield Management and Research of Tourism (or SMRT, for short) building, which would be packed with all sorts of in-jokes and signs advertising stuff from throughout Springfield. Along the way, you'd learn that SMRT has been hard at work figuring out new ways to not only encourage tourism, but find new and exciting ways of separating tourists from their cash. The latest method: the Automated Automobile, invented by Professor Frink and calibrated for a tour to show the town at its best. Guests would climb aboard their Automated Automobile in a loading garage, beginning their scenic tour...at least until they pass a control room, where Homer and Bart get into an argument and accidentally smash a control panel.

Thus, guests find their Automated Automobiles take off for a madcap drive throughout Springfield. You'll speed by many familiar faces, and through familiar spaces...sometimes literally (with one potential example being a crash through Moe's Tavern, or the Nuclear Power Plant). While I don't know the specific scenes throughout, I do imagine that the final part of the ride would mimic the show's classic intro, except this time it's your ride vehicle speeding towards Homer as he dashes into the Simpsons household. One last crash would bring you through the living room and recalibrate your car in the process, with Frink calling it back to SMRT.

Royal Doulton Music Hall
(Live show)
Bucks and mares, cubs and does, welcome to our show of shows! Through a magic portal conjured from a ceramic bowl, you’ll find yourself in a colorful music hall ready for you to sing along with today’s exciting special guest: Mary Poppins!

Like many, I've been waiting to see what would happen if a Mary Poppins attraction were to ever happen. The news that Epcot would be the space to get it makes sense as a good use of the UK pavilion, but I saw all the debates over the amount of space given for this attraction. Not only that, but also the debates and rumors swirling around if it was going to be a flat ride, a spinner, or a more immersive meet and greet. For me, I tried something which could work for a smaller space than a major ride, and also tried to reflect how the promotional material for it reflects Mary Poppins Returns more than the original. My thought: a sing-along show.

Guests would enter into the Banks home at 17 Cherry Tree Lane, with the family currently out to have themselves a jolly holiday. A friendly chimney sweep is there is greet us and guide us into a deeper room, informing guests that the Banks family might be out but they can still have a holiday right here. With a spin of a Royal Doulton bowl, the room changes around us (thanks to lighting and hologram effects) into a cartoonish theater lobby. From there, they enter the Royal Doulton Music Hall theater and grab their seats. There, a colorfully-dressed Master of Ceremonies leads the show, including introducing our special guest: Mary Poppins! Thus we get a show that is a delightful sing-along, as Mary Poppins and a chorus of chimney sweeps and leeries sing a variety of songs from the original Mary Poppins film and Mary Poppins Returns.

Now, for another of the requests.

Revolutionary River
(Boat dark ride)
Walking through an old Revolutionary-era harbor building, you will see time turn back as your boat takes a plunge into the past. Ride through a town caught in the midst of war, and watch a battle unfold that was part of the bigger struggle for freedom.

Now, I've discussed the challenges inherent to this one. Even for as far back as it was, the Revolutionary War was a real war, and making a theme park ride based around it feels a touch...off. That, and the risk that portraying real figures and events from the war might tilt and skew the perception of them in a way that might feel propaganda-ish. So, I've decided to opt for something that more captures the mood of this event. I know some might complain about not showing actual figures or events, but I feel this could be a safer approach it it.

The queue would be based around an old Revolutionary-era harbor building, still baring the scars and marks of age. Riders would reach the loading area, and climb into their boats. They'd cruise through more interior harbor space, as the sounds of a drum and flute begin fill the air. A voice would remind us that though men like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were guiding forces in the Revolutionary War, we should never forget the ordinary citizens who helped in that fight. It is then that we take a drop, and find ourselves back in that time. We drift through a town caught in the conflict, with barriers erected and some calling for freedom against British tyranny. Of course, British soldiers are combing through the town as well, with signs of their taxation left up and confrontations with the citizens. Then, we'd pass into a forest, where American and British forces are battling. Eventually, the fighting quiets down as the American troops cheer, having made it through the battle. As we approach a harbor house that appears freshly built, a ghostly version of a Colonial American soldier appears. He was the earlier voice we heard, reminding us this time that this was one battle, and it took many acts of courage to achieve freedom.

Now, for the last piece of that request.

Buzz and Woody’s Moving Adventure
(Dark ride)
Hop into an RC car, and drive through the events of the classic film that launched Pixar Animation Studios. Follow Woody and Buzz Lightyear as they rush to reunite with Andy’s toys, journeying through Pizza Planet and braving the horrors of Sid’s twisted toy room.

I tried to think about that double track approach for this idea, but I'm not sure that there is enough there to really design a double track approach for it. There's not a ton of crazy different locations, and it's not like Buzz or Woody have majorly differing elements in their adventures during the original Toy Story film. The double track system worked for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, thanks to not being a real adaptation of the movie plot but instead about capturing the madcap feel of Mr. Toad speeding along. That said, I could still see something like an old-school Fantasyland dark ride for Toy Story.

Guests would enter a queue modeled after Andy's bedroom, though with the guests at toy size. They'd work their way towards the loading area, with ride vehicles modeled after RC. We'd start outside the entrance of Pizza Planet, as Buzz and Woody are looking for Andy. Following in, we'd move along the arcade machines as Buzz and Woody evade people in their search. We'll even pass through the claw machine, surrounded by the aliens as Buzz and Woody get pulled up. Following that, we find ourselves in Sid's room, hearing his sick laughter as he "fixes" a new toy (though we only see a shadow of him, perhaps). A few of his "remade" toys would arrive, scaring Woody and offering some gentle surprises for the riders. Shadows would suggest those toys finally turning on Sid and scaring him, as Buzz and Woody flee. Of course, Scud turns up in the hallway with a bark trying to get them, but we narrowly evade. We follow on the road now, the moving truck in the distance as Woody and Buzz light up a firework. Then, we get that iconic shot of Buzz soaring through the air and Woody holding on, closer now to the truck. Finally, we find ourselves back in Andy's room, Buzz and Woody shaking hands and the toys together as "You've Got a Friend in Me" plays us off to the unloading area.

Thank you very much for that.

When it comes to doing a ride that is an adaptation of a specific movie's plot and not just generally based on the movie, I tried to work on the philosophy of capturing key emotions and images from the movie, rather than condense every detail of the plot. As much as the film's start has some classic images, when it comes to Buzz and Woody's story, I felt like Pizza Planet was a good point for starting the ride. From that point, it would be about their race to make it back to the moving truck, taking us through Sid's room (which those toys still left me with a few creeps) and the actual chase down the road. Andy's room, meanwhile, would make for a good final room for the ride with a nice ending.

Even if this misses some of the finer details, it still conveys the plot in a way that the guest can enjoy.

you dont have to do it if you dont want to, but i have a really cool idea for an Aladdin trackless dark ride like poohs hunny hunt, with a friend like me sequence like the heffalump and woozles sequence from hunny hunt. basically a mix of the genie stage from the snes game with the aforementioned sequence from hunny hunt. Also i think a genie animatronic that interacts with the guests would be sweet.
there would likely be someone to fill in for the role of the genie due to robin williams death. And NOT will smith, at least not with his live action appearance. also the queue would be based of the chase sequence from the beginning of the movie.

Dan Castelleneta and Jim Meskimen have both served as stand-in voice actors for the Genie, so they could be used.

but what do you think of the idea though? I also have an idea where the genie takes your picture in the friend like me room, and says "now smile and say... Alibaba!" or something like that on a screen, like how the heffabees drink from your vehicle in hunny hunt.

Don't worry, I'll give it a try. To be honest, I was already planning on writing an idea for an Aladdin dark ride. I was thinking of perhaps a rail-suspended ride system for it, but I can give a try with the trackless dark ride format.

I’ve been trying to think of a concept for a nighttime fireworks show.
That's cool to hear. I can imagine there'd be some challenge there, thinking about what core idea or story you might try to tell in that format. I might try thinking up one, myself. It'll be a bit of a challenge, considering I've mostly just thought about rides and maybe some lands before.

In the meantime, here's an idea tinkering around with an old unmade attraction concept.

Geyser Ridge
(Drop ride)
Not many would dare to brave the dangerous blasts of Geyser Ridge to mine for gold, but Phineas Q. Pluvium is just crazy enough to try! Climb into one of his mining trawlers and drive deep into the mines, but beware: the wrong turn might send you into the crossfire of a geyser!

As you can guess, I saw the old concept of Geyser Mountain and the core idea would make for a fun thrill ride in Frontierland. Of course, I tried thinking up a backstory for it. In my idea, Geyser Ridge is a dangerous piece of land, home to geyser blasts that have threatened the stability of most mining companies that tried to set up there. Phineas Q. Pluvium, however, decided to take that challenge. Whereas men like Barnabas T. Bullion would deal with problems by throwing manpower at them, Phineas sought to use genius and technology to conquer the natural risks. He carefully designed his tunnels to take advantage of the geysers, using them to literally flush the gold out. Thus, trawler carts can roll through and collect these goods. Helping to control these geysers are tall towers housed with pipes to help divert some of the water from the geysers.

The queue would take you through the main offices of the Pluvium Mining Corporation, winding past the front office and through the halls. Signs advertise the great promise of wealth for the workers in comparison to Pluvium's competitors, along with some warning workers about potential cave-ins and geysers blasts. Maps help to outline the mining system, with its network of tunnels designed around the geysers, along with schematics showcasing the trawler carts. Eventually, you reach the loading docks, with chambers for each trawler cart. A modified voicepipe offers message from Phineas, thanking us for our courage in taking on this dangerous job for him. Eventually, you are loaded onto your trawler cart, and the metal doors in front of it close.

Your trawler cart winds down the mine shaft, the roar of geyser blasts echoing down the caverns. One large rumble sounds, as the cart approaches its intended turn...only to discover the shaft has collapsed, with a rail switch struck. You're instead diverted down a different shaft, with warning signs telling to turn back. You enter a wooden structure, perhaps one of the towers you witnessed outside. Another rumble emerges, shaking the trawler cart, and up you go! You're flying up on one of the geysers, sending you up to the top and peering out of a window over Frontierland! You dive up and down, until the geyser settles and it feels as if the trawler cart has snagged onto some track. It rolls out of there, working towards a new set of doors as one of Pluvium's attendants is there to help let you out.

Sorry it took a while on this. Honestly, this wound up being a little more difficult than I expected. If anyone has any thoughts on it, like portions I could trim or a story arc I could better focus on, let me know.

Aladdin’s Wondrous Journey
(Trackless dark ride)
Hop aboard a magic carpet and fly through the adventure of Aladdin and his magic lamp. Glide through the Cave of Wonders and witness the Genie’s magic, as his tricks help to show Aladdin and Princess Jasmine a whole new world.

The more that I thought about it, the more a trackless dark ride seems appealing for Aladdin. As I mentioned, though, this wound up being a little difficult to think out. I mentioned before about focusing on key moments or images and Aladdin has plenty of great sights. Hopefully my approach works. Anyway, the queue would be based around the streets of Agrabah, as you snake through the streets and alleyways. Periodically, you might even hear the calls of guards who are hunting down Aladdin. Eventually, you reach the loading area, with the ride vehicles being magic carpets. You hop aboard and move towards, eventually reaching the street vendor from the start of the original film. He tells you to look within and discover the "diamond in the rough", with a nearby sand dune morphs into the Cave of Wonders. It is into that impressive mouth that we enter the familiar tale.

Treasures surround us as we pass, with Abu tempted by the sights. Aladdin finds the lamp and rubs it, as the cave rumbles and threatens destruction. However, a bluish/purplish tunnel appears to swirl around us, as we find ourselves meeting the Genie. The room is a colorful space, as "Friend Like Me" plays and our vehicles moves around to join in the fun. Plenty of goofy antics and silly sights are on display, until our carpets head towards a cavern exit. We find ourselves back in Agrabah, as the carpets take parade formation as "Prince Ali" plays. Plenty of familiar characters can be seen here, with Aladdin trying to impress Jasmine and Jafar looking on with suspicion. The mood softens, however, as the carpets turn into screen areas, giving a simulator-like feel of flying high into the sky. They turn from there and pass Aladdin and Jasmine, singing "A Whole New World". Moving away, it appears as if we descend, though there is danger around. The palace halls have a sinister color, as we hear Jafar rant about his power and see Iago harassing the Sultan. It's there that we turn into a wide room, our carpets dashing back and forth as Aladdin battles Jafar in snake form. A turn into another hallway as a screen at the other end, as Jafar transforms into a genie...and then promptly is captured in a lamp, the look of the palace walls changing around us.

With that, we turn back into the streets as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine sit on their own magic carpet, together at last. Genie surprises us with one last appearance (perhaps making a theme park reference, like saying he'll see us at the gift shop or that he's heading off to It's a Small World) as we head towards the unloading area.
