Oh wow that sounds like an awesome ride...wish they had went through with the original kali concept. I find that kali right now isn't exciting but I still ride it so I don't know why I'm complaining haha.
I only ride when it is really hot because for some reason every single time I get on that thing I am one of the 2 unlucky people that gets soaked at the bottom of the drop. My own wife and kids will not even sit next to me anymore on that ride!

Haha that's funny, the same thing happens to me, I'll get off that thing and be the only one soaking wet! I guess we're lucky like that.

I also think that Dinosaur is the future of dark rides simply because you actually feel like you're gunning around in a off-road vehicle and not on some monotonous path. What i'd love to see for dinoland is something similar to that scene in the first Jurrassic park movie where they walk right up to the dino's. Imagine KSafari but w/ gentle dino's?

quote]

They actually had one planned for the Cretaceous Trail, it was an Acrocanthosaurus and it was already built in WDI Tujunga and it was a interactive dinosaur, where you could see it close up and watch it do many things like eating or hunting. But when they pulled the River Iguanadon out of Discovery River, they didn't install it, not sure why, but I think it was political.

It is quite a bit of land. From what rumors have been floating around the internet the original Kali concept was to be around double the size of what was actually built with multiple drops and live animals. It still leaves quite a bit of land left over so I m thinking Kali's location might have also been modified to its current location due to its reduced size.

Kali orginally was going to open when the park opened, but because of the changes (budget cuts) Originally, Kali was TRR (Tiger Rapids Run) and the animals in the Jungle Trek were going to be in the ride itself. And it was going to have 3 drops not just one and a lot of bigger and longer.

The area by EE is for another animal barn. In our latest DVC Vacation Magic there is an article about it for the AKL and Villias so they can support the larger amount of animals that will be on the savannah. It will increase from 11 acres to 16 acres. So they may also increase the varity of animals that we can see while staying at the resorts.

i heard some talk while i was working at DAK, that they were hoping to finish the park with the 2 other lands that they never got to by the time of its 10th anniversary. but as much as i would love that to happen i just don't think it to be realistically possible at all.
Indeed... it won't happen... :D
plus i also heard that they werent going to add the mythical creatures land at all.
But this one is true... :D

And while we're at it... Australia won't happen either... :lookaroun

DAK will never be finished...

But no South America either... Sorry... :D

No arctic, no south america, no austrailia and no europe and no real north america (except for all the buzzards who have taken over the safari ride). Maybe they need to rename the park.

Come on, you know how Disney is! What the prevailing wisdom is today can suddenly change tomorrow. Who knows how AK might evolve in the future. Of course, technically Walt never said "Animal Kingdom will never be completed..." :)

Ummmm, I was parapharasing someone else. Try reading the entire thread. I am of the opinion it will some day include all continents. As long as reason prevails that is.

I agree that it SHOULD contain all the continents, but to me, Dinoland throws a wrench in that plan. I'd like to see where Dinoland is converted to Australia. The only major loss would be Dinosaur itself. I'd want the ride moved over to DHS for the East-coast Indy. It is the same layout anyway ;)

Doubt they would move that ride. But look on the bright side, there were dinos in Austrailia. So maybe they could add Austrailia if they remove Dinorama but keep Dinosaur. It wouldn't be a large area but Austrailia is not a large continent :D
